Yes, the truth can save souls!
But who can know the truth!?
A. Sort it out this way!
1. Jesus therefore said to those Jews that had believed him, if ye abide in my word,
are ye truly my disciples; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Jn.8:31-32
2. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:
for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:
and he will show you things to come.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. Jn.16:13-14
3. Sanctify them through thy truth: Thy word is truth. Jn.17:17
4. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Matt.26:28
5. Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body. Heb.10:19-20
***Saved people know “his body” is church of Christ! (Come up with scriptures!)
B. Paul also put it this way! 1Cor.2:9-16
1. But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1Cor.1:9
2. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:
For the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. 1Cor.1:10
3. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?
Even so the things of God know no man, but the Spirit of God. 1Cor.1:11
4. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God;
that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1Cor.1:12
5. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him?
But we have the mind of Christ. 1Cor.1:16
***This is one reason the Lord put saved people in church of Christ! Ac.2:47
C. Some may know the truth but lost!
1. Thou believe that God is one; thou do well: the demons also believe, and shudder. James 2:19
2. Unbelieving Jews know Revelation better than denomination people!
3. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. Jn.5:39-40
4. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice:
What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me! Lk.8:28
D. The world most twisted scriptures!
1. Apostle Peter warned us! 2Peter 3:16
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be
understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures,
unto their own destruction.
2. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Ro.10:9-10
3. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph.2:8-9
4. God did not give them the brain to know Ro.3:20!
Because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight;
for through the law the knowledge of sin.
E. It would be a shame to know the truth and be lost!
1. Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness,
receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21
2. Thou see that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made complete. James 2:22
3. For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead. James 2:28
