A. Works of the busybodies in the church! 2Thes.3:10-15
1. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work,
neither should he eat. 2Thes.3:10
2. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly,
working not at all, but are busybodies. 2Thes.3:11
3. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ,
that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. 2Thes.3:12
4. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. And if any man obeys not our word by this epistle,
note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. 2Thes.3:13-14
5. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 2Thes.3:15
B. Works that show a condemned life!
1. Works done to become denomination church members!
Denomination men are warped, sinful and self-condemned! Titus 3:10-11
2. Sacrifice of praise to God other than fruit of the lips! Heb.13:15
3. Accept teachings different from what Paul preached! Gal.1:8
4. Distort Apostle Paul's writings! 2Pet.3:16
5. Support preachers not in church of Christ! 2Jn.1:10-11
6. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph.2:8-9
7. Because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight;
for through the law the knowledge of sin. Ro.3:20
C. Works of Satan’s people!
1. Be sober, be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walk about, seeking whom he may devour: 1Pet.5:8
2. Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!
You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one,
you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are. Matt.23:15
3. Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh. Phil.3:2
4. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness;
whose end shall be according to their works. 2Cor.11:14-15
5. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food.
All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. Ro.14:20
D. Works that show a saved life in Christ.
1. They asked: What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
Jesus said: This is the work of God that you believe in him whom he has sent. Jn.6:28-29
2. Works that made you a member of the church of Christ.
Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins.... Ac.2:36-38
3. Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, church of Christ. Heb.10:19-20
4. If ye then be risen with Christ,
seek those things which are above, where Christ sit on the right hand of God. Col.3:1
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Col.3:2
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Col.3:3
5. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Heb.10:25
For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth,
there remain no more sacrifice for sins.Heb.10:26
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.He.10:27
6. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Eph.2:10
7. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that love not his brother. 1Jn.3:10
8. Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone. James 2:17
