Jesus said these! Those willing to do are blessed!
A. Scriptures for this study: Jn.10:27-28
1. Jesus said: a. My sheep hear my voice. b. I know them. c. They follow me.
2. Jesus promised:
a. I give them eternal life. b. They shall never perish. c. No one can snatch them out of my hand.
(Ignorance and like to find my fault will say I changed scriptures! I translated from original text!)
B. All must be sure of these:
1. Jesus said: My Father and I are one. Jn.10:30
2. Heaven and earth will pass away. My words will never pass away! Matt.24:35
3. Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven! Matt.7:21
4. But only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven! Matt.7:21
5. Many will say to me on that day: Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name,
and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Matt.7:22
6. Then I will tell them plainly: I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers! Matt.7:23
*** Follow Jesus is not about what you can do!
Follow Jesus is about abide in the set of rules that regulate human behavior!
7. The word voice means precepts, a set of rules that regulate human behavior!
8. Hear means listen and understand!
Jesus followers are people who hear, understand and practice his set of rules that regulate human behavior!
C. I know them and they follow me!
1. This word “follow” means conform to Jesus’ way of life!
More than what Paul wrote to the Corinthians: Imitate me as I imitate Christ. 1Cor.11:1
2. To the Galatians believers Paul wrote:
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Gal.2:20
3. To the believers in Rome Paul wrote: Ro.8:12-14
So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh, for if ye live after the flesh,
ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Ro.8:12-13
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Ro.8:14
*** Yes, live a life lead by the Spirit of God not by the desires of the flesh!
4. To the Ephesians Paul wrote: Eph.4:22-27
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self,
which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds. Eph.4:22-23
And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Eph.4:24
Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members
of one body. Eph.4:25
"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
and do not give the devil a foothold. Eph.4:26-27
D. Think about these 3 set of scriptures:
1. John 8:31-32
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said: If you abide in my teaching, you are really my disciples.
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
2. John 14:15-17
If you love me, you will obey my commandments. Jn.14:15
I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you forever, the Spirit
of truth whom the world cannot receive for it see him not, neither know him.
You know him. For he abides with you and shall be in you.
3. John 13:34-35
***A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. NIV 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another;
even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. Jn.13:34 ASV (Compare, see one difference!)
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Jn.13:35
E. Conclusion: Now we really know what Jesus said in John 10:27-28!
Jesus said: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27
*** In all the world those willing to do this are blessed! Will you do this?
