Many philosophers came up with many different ideas!
A. We only want Jesus’ idea!
1. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Jn.10:27
2. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. Jn.10:28
B. Why we take Jesus’ idea?
1. God is faithful and righteous and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1Jn.1:9
2. For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ.
And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. 2Cor.1:20
3. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Matt.24:35
*** No human can be all of the above!
C. Think about these few rules!
1. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matt.6:33
2. So in all things do to others as you would others do to you for this sum up the Law and the Prophets. Matt.7:12
*** This one rule is enough for all on earth to enjoy peace living happy doing!
3. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands,
that he may have something to share with those in need. Eph.4:28
*** In NYC 46 years I seen lots of hard working people become very rich!
I see many children grew up become rich too!
Right now we see young people grow up making lots of money!
So I wonder why do people grow up in America can become poor!
Do we have American dream? Some American dreamed to become poor?
4. Please tell me why people in America can grow up and become poor!
5. I never able to understand why poor people have money to buy cigarette or wine!
6. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule:
If a man not willing to work, he shall not eat. 2Thes.3:10
7. In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry. Eph.4:26
D. Stay free from these three eliminates lots of troubles for all! Heb.13:4-5
1. Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure,
for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Heb.13:4
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have,
because God has said: Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Heb.13:5
2. So we say with confidence: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? Heb.13:6
3. Always remember these!
(1)Fornicators, adulterers cannot enter the kingdom of heaven!
(2) The love of money is the source of all kinds of evil! 1Tim.6:10
E. Saved people are able to do these two! 1Cor.6:12
1. Everything is permissible for me -- but not everything is beneficial.
*** Remember beneficial to others first!
2. Everything is permissible for me -- but I will not be mastered by anything. 1Cor.6:12
*** Literally practice this one! Never be mastered by anything!
(1)Watch a championship football game turns off the TV at the middle of it and see how you feel!
(2)At the height of playing a basketball game suddenly stop and go home!
(3) Top test for habitual smoker, drunker, gambler, fornicator, adulterer, liar …!
Quit abruptly! Quit cold turkey! All around me can be dead drunk I stay clear headed!
3. Jesus believers are to be free from sin! How about free from control by earthly things!
4. Can men prove God’s word is not true? Ro.7:24-25
What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?
Thanks be to God-- through Jesus Christ our Lord! Ro.7:24-25
5. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Phil.4:13
F. Conclusion:
Either way we are more than conquerors! Ro.8:36-37
1. Even as it is written:
For thy sake we are killed all the day long, we were accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Ro.8:36
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Ro.8:37
