a. Work for life of the soul. b. Work for food of the body.
c. Work in obey Old and New Testament teaching.
A. A new live chicken is born!
1. Male chicken work for female chicken to produce fertilized egg.
2. Female chicken work to lay fertilized egg!
3. Mother chicken work to hatch the egg!
4. Inside the shell a chicken is developed!
5. The fully developed chicken has to work with its beak to break the shell to come out!
*** The last step to come out a new live chicken it has to do works!
6. Works may be done if the last step fails no new live chicken is born!
7. It takes its own beak works to finish the job!
B. A child of God is born!
1. All works are done by God and God's called servants!
2. Yes, they heard Jesus was crucified, buried, raised to be Lord and Christ! Acts 2:36
3. Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins... Ac.2:38
4. With many other words he warned them. And he pleaded with them:
Save yourselves from this corrupt generation!
And about 3000 were added to the church of Christ. Ac.2:41, 2:47
5. And now what are you waiting for?
Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name. Ac.22:16
6. Get up, be baptized! This work must be done by the believer!
7. A new born child of God takes the believer to do the get up and be baptized works!
C. Do not be confused with these works! Eph.2:8-10
1. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
not by works, so that no one can boast. Eph.2:8-9
*** God granted only saved people to know what kinds of works here!
These works are obeying Old Testament regulations works!
2. For we are God's workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph.2:10
*** These works are evidences of a new living life!
a. As the fully developed chicken in the shell using its beak to break the shell and come out!
b. As the believer gets up, be baptized, attend Sunday worship, enjoy peace living and happy doing life!
D. Works as evidence of a new life in Christ!
1. Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead in itself. James 2:17
2. Ye see that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith. James 2:24
3. For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead. James 2:26
4. Rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. 1Pet.2:1
5. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation. 1Pet.2:2
6. Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-- not only in my presence,
but now much more in my absence-- continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Phil.2:12-13
7. Do all things without murmurings and questionings: Phil.2:14
8. that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and
perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world, Phil.2:15
9. holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ,
that I did not run in vain neither labor in vain. Phil.2:16
E. Works that earn you food to eat!
1. We work hard with our own hands.
When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it. 1Cor.4:12
2. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands,
that he may have something to share with those in need. Eph.4:28
3. Surely you remember, brothers, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden
to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you. 1Thes.2:9
4. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: If a man will not work, he shall not eat. 2Thes.3:10
5. Now them that are such we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ,
that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. 2Thes.3:12
F. Conclusion: Identify these works!
a. Works that prove you do what O.T. said! b. Works that prove a living faith. c. Works that earn you food.
