Good man!?

Good man!?

A. Cornelius and his family! Acts 10:1-2

1. Cornelius and all his family were devout and God-fearing.

2. He gave generously to those in need!

3. He prayed to God regularly!

4. Were they good enough to be saved?

No! They were not good enough to be saved!

5. God sent angel to tell them to get Peter to help them to be saved!

B. How about these kinds of men?

1. Guys who pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace and being pure hearted!

2. Fight the good fight of their faith.

3. Take hold of the eternal life.

4. Keep God's commands without spot or blame!

5. Are these kinds of guys good enough to be saved?

6. Unless they are members of the church of Christ!

C. How about this man? 2Cor.11:22-28

1. Are they Hebrews?  So am I.

Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they Abraham's descendants? So am I. 11:22

2. Are they servants of Christ? I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently,

been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. 2Cor.11:23

3. Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 2Cor.11:24

4. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked,

I spent a night and a day in the open sea. 2Cor.11:25

5. I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits,

in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city,

in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. 2Cor.11:26

6. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have

brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you. Phil.3:17

2. For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears,

many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Phil.3:18

3. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame.

Their mind is on earthly things. Phil.3:19

4. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control,

will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. Phil.3:20-21

5. Remember!  Only real members of the church of Christ can be saved!

E. These are the saved men!

1. May Christ strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and

Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. 1Thes.3:13

2. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.

May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1The.5:23

3. He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.1Cor.1:8

*** We know these above are humanly impossible!

F. Be a member of the church of Christ is the way! Heb.10:19-20

1. Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,

by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body. Heb.10:19-20

2. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Col.3:3-4
