Love! (2)
A. God is love!
1. For God so loved the world that he gave his begotten Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jn.3:16
2. God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Ro.5:8
3. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1Jn.4:8
4. This is how God showed his love among us:
He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1Jn.4:9
5. This is love:
Not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1Jn.4:10
B. This is love for God!
1. Jesus said: If you love me, you will keep my commandments. Jn.14:15
2. This is love for God: To obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome. 1Jn.5:3
3. And this is love: That we walk in obedience to his commands.
As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. 2Jn.1:6
4. But Peter and John answered and said to them:
Whether it be right in the sight of God to hear you rather than to God, judge ye. Ac.4:19
*** Old Testament authority commanded them not to teach Jesus is the Christ!
Jesus commanded them to teach Jesus is the Christ! (Choose death of soul or death of body)!
5. Then Peter and the other apostles answered: By law and necessity we obey God rather than men. Ac.5:29
*** We have to teach New Testament Bible truth!
C. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Eph.6:1
1. Diehard Old Testament parents!
(1) Jesus and his teachings was heretic! Ac.24:14
Jesus and his teaching can save souls! James 1:21
(2) If you believe Jesus is the Christ you are a dead body! Matt.10
Jesus said: If you do not believe Jesus is the Christ, you die in your sins! Jn.8:24
2. Jesus is the Way! Jn.14:6, Acts 4:12, Heb.10:19-20.
3. Test your children: Do you love me? Yes is the normal answer!
Sit there for 30 minutes! All children sit 30 minutes for the love for his father or mother!
D. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Col.3:20
1. Obey only church of Christ member parents!
a. You must disobey non church of Christ member parents!
Rather than do wicked works and be in hell with them! 2Jn.1:10-11
b. 1st century Jesus followers had to disobey their parents to their death! Matt.10
2. Jesus was missing in Jerusalem for 3 days. His parents found him in the temple.
He said to them: How is it that ye sought me?
Don’t you know I must be about my Father's business? Lk.2:49
3. As we know love can be very cruel!
April 5, 2021 at 3 a.m. there was a Texas family with father, mother, 21 year old brother.
19 year old younger brother and a sister 19 year old with a visiting grandma all 6 dead!
The 19 and 21 year old brothers plotted to suicide and kill all others!
The reason stated in writing was love! They were depressed and didn’t get enough help!
Except be members of the church of Christ there is none can help!
*** This love is extreme cruelty!
According to New Testament Bible teaching their souls are suffering in Hades now!
At final judgment they will be in hell forever! Rev.20:12-14
*** Church of Christ is all over Texas! Why and how can they not be members of the church of Christ!
Sunday (4/4/21) sermon had stated church of Christ member never commit suicide!
4. Yes, still, God is love forever and ever!
E. If you love God, obey only church of Christ leaders and submit to their authority! Heb.13:17
1. Obey your leaders and submit to their authority in matters of believing Jesus.
2. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account.
3. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.
4. Church of Christ members are to obey all nations ordinance for the Lord’s sake! Ro.13:1-4, 1Pet.2:13
F. True love can only be found in church of Christ!
