Healthy body life? Follow Jesus!

Follow Jesus!  Why?

A. You need Jesus' forever rules to regulate behavior! John 10:27-28

1. The scriptures: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Jn.10:27

    I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. Jn.10:28

2. “My sheep” are Jesus followers.

3. “Hear” means heard, understand and do what was said.

4. “Voice” means rules to regulate human behavior.

*** How did I find these above? 

     I have word for word translation Bible! 

    The dictionary published 150 years ago by a Columbia divinity school professor!

*** How did I get hold to these two books?  God made it possible for me!  Same as are you here listening to my teaching!?

5. Follow Jesus not only to get eternal life!  But also a healthy body life right now on earth!

6. God has chosen us for his own glory! Isaiah 43:7

B. By yourself you can't do these! Romans 7:15-25

1. For that which I do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practice; but what I hate, that I do. Ro.7:15

2. But if what I would not, that I do, I consent unto the law that it is good. Ro.7:16

3. So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. Ro.7:17

4. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing:  For to will is present with me, but to do that which is good not. Ro.7:18

5. For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practice. Ro.7:19

6. But if what I would not, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. Ro.7:20

7. I find then the law, that, to me who would do good evil is present. Ro.7:21

8. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: Ro.7:22

9. But I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into

    captivity under the law of sin which is in my members. Ro.7:23

10. Wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me out of the body of this death? Ro.7:24

11. I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

    So then I of myself with the mind, indeed, serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Ro.7:25

C. You can't overcome these temptations all life long! Heb.13:4-6

1. Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Heb.13:4

2. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said:

    Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Heb.13:5

3. So we say with confidence: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? Heb.13:6

4. Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Heb.13:7

5. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Heb.13:8

D. By yourself you can't do these! Romans 14:16-19

1. Let not then your good be evil spoken of: Ro.14:16

2. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Ro.14:17

3. For he that in these things serve Christ is acceptable to God, and acceptable to men. Ro.14:18

4. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. Ro.14:19

E. Follow Jesus you are able to do these! 1Cor.6:12

1. "Everything is permissible for me"-- but not everything is beneficial.

    "Everything is permissible for me"-- but I will not be mastered by anything. 1Cor.6:12

2. And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Thes.5:23

3. So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matt.7:12

F. No time to waste start do these now! 1Tim.4:7-16

1. But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. 1Tim.4:7

2. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things,

    holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1Tim.4:8

3. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. 1Tim.4:9

4. That we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. 1Tim.4:10

5. Command and teach these things. 1Tim.4:11

6. Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech,

    in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1Tim.4:12

7. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 1Tim.4:13

8. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you. 1Tim.4:14

9. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 1Tim.4:15

10. Watch your life and doctrine closely.

    Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1Tim.4:16
