Two sides teaching!

Two sides teaching!

A. Center piece of teaching! Ro.14:16-19

1. Let not your good be spoken of as evil. Ro.14:16

2. For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking,

but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Ro.14:17

3. For he that herein serves Christ is well-pleasing to God, and acceptable to men. Ro.14:18

4. So then let us follow after things which make for peace,

and things whereby we may edify one another. Ro.14:19

B. Lend without expecting return! Lk.6:34-35

1. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matt.6:12

2. And if you lend to them of whom you hope to receive, what thank have ye?

Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive again as much. Lk.6:34

3. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend without expecting return and your reward shall be great,

and you shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil. Lk.6:35

C. Debt is to be paid back in full!

1. Debtor may be put in jail until pay back in full!

Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court.

Do it while you are still with him on the way, or he may hand you over to the judge,

and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. Matt.5:25

2. I tell you the truth, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny. Matt.5:26

Owe no man anything, save to love one another: for he that loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Ro.13:8

*** Lender side: Lend without expecting return!

*** Debtor side: Pay back in full!

*** Good not be spoken of as evil!

*** Pleasing to God and acceptable to men!

*** Both side edified!

*** Righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit accomplished!

D. Slaves and masters!

1. Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate,

but also to those who are harsh. 1Pet.2:18

2. Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart,

just as you would obey Christ. Eph.6:5

3. Masters, treat your slaves in the same way.

Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven,

and there is no favoritism with him. Eph.6:9

4. Those who have believing masters are not to show less respect for them because they are brothers.

Instead, they are to serve them even better, because those who benefit from their service are believers,

and dear to them. These are the things you are to teach and urge on them. 1Tim.6:2

E. Parents and children!

1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Eph.6:1

2. Honor your father and mother -- which is the first commandment with a promise—Eph.6:2

3. That it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth. Eph.6:3

4. Fathers, do not provoke your children;

instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Eph.6:4

5. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Col.3:20

6. Fathers, do not provoke your children, or they will become discouraged. Col.3:21

F. Husband and wife!

1. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. Eph.5:22

2. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Eph.5:24

3. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Eph.5:25

G. Conclusion:

1. Let not your good be spoken of as evil!

2. What you do is pleasing to God and acceptable to men!

3. Both sides are edified!

4. Righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit accomplished!

May God bless you and keep you always!  Written May 19, 2021.
