A. Focal point in life! Ro.14:16-19
1. Let not your good be spoken of as evil. Ro.14:16
2. For the church of Christ is not eating and drinking,
but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Ro.14:17
3. For he that herein serves Christ is well-pleasing to God, and acceptable to men. Ro.14:18
4. So then let us follow after things which make for peace,
and things whereby we may edify one another. Ro.14:19
B. Lend without expecting return! Lk.6:34-35
1. Jesus taught us pray to God: Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matt.6:12
2. And if you lend to them of whom you hope to receive, what thank have ye?
Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive again as much. Lk.6:34
3. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend without expecting return and your reward shall be great,
and you shall be sons of the Most High: For he is kind toward the unthankful and evil. Lk.6:35
C. Debt is to be paid back in full!
1. Debtor may be put in jail until pay back in full!
Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court.
Do it while you are still with him on the way, or he may hand you over to the judge,
and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. Matt.5:25
2. I tell you the truth, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny. Matt.5:26
3. Owe no man anything, save to love one another: for he that loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Ro.13:8
D. Righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit is to be accomplished!
1. Lender side: Lend without expecting return!
2. Debtor side: Paid all debt in full!
3. Good not be spoken of as evil!
4. Both side edified!
E. On judgment day each on his own!
1. There will be no because he did that!
2. There will be no I did it for self defense!
3. It will be about what you had done!
4. Did you lend and expect pay back?
5. Did you pay all debt in full?
6. Did you love your wife as you love your own body?
7. Did you love your brother as you love yourself?
8. Everything will be horrible! No one can stand!
***I do not know about you! I know I would be aggravated to death!
F. Thank God Jesus built the church of Christ!
1. I can hide my life with Christ in God!
2. I do not have to go through this kind of judgment!
3. My judgment is on the day of my baptism into the name of Jesus Christ!
4. My judgment is the time I pray to God for forgiveness of my sins!
5. As a member of the church of Christ I was a part of the body of Christ!
6. If I had to go through judgment I will be judged according to what Jesus had done!
7. Now you know why Jesus purchased the church of Christ with his own blood!
8. Now you know why it is important that you become a member of the church of Christ!
G. Focal point in life!
1. Render to no man evil for evil. Ro.12:17
2. Take thought for things (you know are) honorable in the sight of all men. Ro.12:17
*** Chinese Bible put it the other way around! (Take thought to do things which others deem to be good!)
3. If it be possible, as much as in you lie. Be at peace with all men. Ro.12:18
4. Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath:
For it is written: Vengeance belongs to me; I will recompense, says the Lord. Ro.12:19
5. But if your enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink:
For in so doing thou shall heap coals of fire upon his head. Ro.12:20
6. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Ro.12:21
H. Conclusion:
This way we can all enjoy righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit!
