Unique evils! (3)

A. Give me your money and you will be blessed!

1. The robber said: Mr. Chan I am here doing you a favor!

2. You are blessed!  Because I am poor and need your help!  So, give me your money!

3. Jesus said: Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over,

    will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Lk.6:38

4. Remember the words of the Lord Jesus himself said: It is more blessed to give than to receive! Ac.20:35

B. Respect of persons! James 2:1-14

1. My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. Jam,2:1

2. For if there come to your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man

    in vile raiment; and you have regard to him that wear the fine clothing, and say:

    Sit you here in a good place; and you say to the poor man, you stand there, or sit under my footstool. Jam.2:2-3

3. But you have dishonored the poor man.

    Do not the rich oppress you, and themselves drag you before the judgment-seats? Jam.2:6

4. Howbeit if you fulfill the royal law, according to the scripture:

    You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well:

    But if you have respect of persons, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. Jam.2:8-9

C. Search out the worthy person in the city or village! Matt.10:7-15

1. As you go, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matt.10:7

2. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: Freely ye received, freely give. Matt.10:8

3. Get you no gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses; no wallet for journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff:

    for the laborer is worthy of his food. Matt.10:9-10

4. Search for the worthy person in the city or village! Matt.10:11

    Into whatsoever city or village you shall enter, search out who in it is worthy; and there abide till you go forth.

5. And as you enter into the house, salute it. Matt.10:12

6. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy,

    let your peace return to you. Matt.10:13

7. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as you go forth out of that house or that city,

    shake off the dust of your feet. Matt.10:14

D. In America even selfish non-believers can make money to buy expensive cars! Eph.4:28-31

1. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands,

    that he may have something to share with those in need. Eph.4:28

*** Real life story: A car parked block my drive way!

    I wrote: My dear neighbors please do not block my drive way! 

    I know if you have your own drive way, you will not do this!

    If you work as hard as I do, God will bless you a house and a drive way some day!

    I taped it on his car windshield.  It works for a long time!

    Thank God in America I’ve seen even selfish non-believers can make enough money to buy expensive cars!

2. Be one of the blessed, do these! Eph.4:29

    Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up

    according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Eph.4:29

3. Be one of the blessed, do these! Eph.4:30

    Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

4. Be one of the blessed, do these! Eph.4:31

    Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Eph.4:31

5. Be one of the blessed, do these! Eph.4:32

    Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Eph.4:32

E. Common evil, many in America enjoying! 1Tim.5:7

    Let the government take care their invalid immediately family members!

1. If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family,

    he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1Tim.5:8

2. No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has been faithful to her husband,

    and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of

    the saints, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds. 1Tim.5:9-10

F. Conclusion:  Poor widow can give to the church too! Mk.12:42-43  

    But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Mk.12:42

    Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said:

    I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. Mk.12:43
