Early morning inspiration! July 17, 2021.
Charity giving is a good thing?
A. Yes! The Bible said so!
1. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak.
*** It is more blessed to give than to receive! The Lord Jesus himself said! Ac.20:35
2. Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly.
And whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 2Cor.9:6
3. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver. 2Cor.9:7
4. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times,
having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2Cor.9:8
B. Charity this way!
1. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over,
will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Lk.6:38
2. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. 1Cor.9:23
3. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him. Col.3:17
C. Charity results!
1. As it is written: He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever." 2Cor.9:9
2. Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed
and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 2Cor.9:10
3. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion,
and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 2Cor.9:11
4. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people
but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 2Cor.9:12
*** Thanks to the God in the Bible! Be sure not any other gods!
D. Give in support of idol worship is extreme evil!
Watch these: He said to them: You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men,
but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God's sight. Lk.16:15
1. Idol worship is an insult to God! Ac.17:16-30
a. Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city full of idols. Ac.17:16
b. The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth
and does not live in temples built by hands. Ac.17:24
e. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth;
and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. Ac.17:26
f. Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or
stone-- an image made by man's design and skill. Ac.17:29
g. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.Ac.17:30
2. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God. 1Thes.1:9
3. Dear children, keep yourselves from idols. 1Jn.5:21
E. Giving in support for idle people is disobeying rule giving to the church! 2Thes.3:10-12

For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: If a man will not work, he shall not eat. 2Thes.3:10
We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 2Thes.3:11
Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat.
F. Giving in support of non-church of Christ is extreme evil!
1. I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who organize denomination church and put obstacles in your
way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. Ro.16:17
2. Warn a denomination person once, and then warn him a second time.
After that, have nothing to do with him. Tit.3:10
You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. Tit.3:11
3. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.
Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work. 2Jn.1:10-11
4. Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!
You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one.
You make him twice as much a son of hell as you are. Matt.23:15
G. Conclusion: Give as much as you can to these people!
I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. 1Cor.9:23
