Recognizing a child of God and a Jesus believer!
A. The having believed Jews! Jn.8:31-59
1. I hope no one is dump enough to say those Jews did not really believe on Jesus or say that they had once believed!
Because the original text says: To the Jews having believed Jesus…!
If anyone says, those Jews did not really believe Jesus or they had once believe Jesus,
they had change God’s word in the Bible!
2. My point is this, people may think or looks like having believed on Jesus,
but in reality they are children of the devil!
Read John 8:31 and 44 then you will know!
3. As we know this kind of Jesus believers are all over the world.
Tragically, many quote them as reason for not believe on Jesus!
B. Why are they not able to live as a child of God!
But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God,
to them that believe on his name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,
but of God. (Jn.1:12-13)
1. There are children born of the will of man and born of the will of God!
Many believe Jesus according to man’s teaching.
Some believe Jesus according to God’s teaching.
2. Many believe Jesus but fail to use the right to become a child of God!
To all who believe Jesus, God give the right to become a child of God!
Peter tells us how to use that right to become a child of God! To those having believed Jesus is the Christ,
Peter said, “Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:36-38.
Jesus put it this way in John 3:5à "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
C. In reality how do we identify them!
1. Having believed Jesus, but continue to live in sin! 1 Jn.3:9-10
Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abide in him:
and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God. In this the children of God are manifest,
and the children of the devil: whosoever do not do righteousness is not of God,
neither he that love not his brother.
2. Having believed Jesus, but do not do good deeds! James 2:19-20
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even demons believe that and shudder.
You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?
3. Having believed Jesus, but still want to be a friend of the world!
You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God?
Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. James 4:4
4. Having believed Jesus, but still pursue money of the world! 1 Tim.6:9-12
But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts,
such as drown men in destruction and perdition.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith,
and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
D. The saved believers are in the church of Christ! Acts 2:47
1. This church is church of Christ! Romans 16:16
2. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
3. A child of God was born into the family by God!
A child has no choice as to which family he is to be born into!
E. Children of God pursue these things: 1 Tim.6:11-12
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, ….
