Woe, when all men shall speak well of you!

Woe, when all men shall speak well of you! Luke 6:26

Please study this with me by guessing the next verse I will talk about! Ready?

1. What is the first scripture do you think I will talk about?

Yes, always read the theme scripture first!

Woe, when all men shall speak well of you!

For in the same manner did their fathers to the false prophets! Lk.6:26

This means, when you tell others about Jesus, you didn’t tell the truth!

2. What is the next scripture in support of this thinking? Jer.5:31

The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way!

But what will you do in the end?

This is one way to have all men speak well of you!

3. What is the next scripture come into mind!2 Tim.4:3

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.

Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers

to say what their itching ears want to hear.

They pay your salary, so you are obligated to say what they want to hear!

To do this, you can't always teach the truth in the Bible!

4. What do you think the next scripture come into mind? James 4:4

You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God?

Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

   a. This means you are an adulterous person!

Not in moral sense but in the sense of being faithful to the gospel message!

   b. You have chosen to be a friend of the world!

   c. You have become an enemy of God!

5. What do you think the next scripture come into mind? Matt.10:22

All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

   a. If you stand firm for the truth, many will hate you!

   b. This means your soul may not be saved!

6. What do you think the next scripture come into mind? Jn.17:14

I have given them your word and the world has hated them,

for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.

This is simple and clear, you are living as one of the world!

Your life style is no different from that of the world!

7. What do you think the next scripture come into mind? Jn.7:7

The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil.

Did you detect the 2 contradict statement in the last two verses?

   Jn.17:14 was about Jesus’ disciples!

If you follow Jesus’ example, many will hate you!

Jn.7:7 was about Jesus’ unbelieving brothers!

8. What do you think the next verse come into mind? Jn.15:19

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own.

As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.

That is why the world hates you.

Are you in the world and of the world! Or

Are you in the world but not of the world!

9. Conclusion: Eph.5:8-9, 2 Cor.6:14.

Be in the dark or in the light, you have to choose one!

May the Lord bless you richly always!
