Christian worship to God in the Bible! (Acts 2:41-42)

A. On which day of the week? First day of the week--> Sunday. (Ac.2:1, 20:7, 1 Cor.16:1-2)

B. Celebrate the Lord’s supper in remembrance of Christ. 1 Cor.11:23-30

    1. He took bread, gave thanks, he broke it and said:

This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me. (1 Co.11:24)

    2. He took the cup saying this is the new covenant in my blood,

do this in remembrance of me. (1 Co.11:25)

(Drink the cup means drink the juice in the cup.)

    3. This is to proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. (1 Co.11:26)

    4. Take it in an unworthy manner

will be guilty of sinning against the body and the blood of the Lord. (1 Co.11:27)

    5. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.

    6. Do it wrong will bring weak and sick or death! (1 Co.11:29-30)

    7. Watch out for wrong argument with Ac.2:46!

Lord’s supper is during worship in the church building! Breaking bread at home is eating a meal! C. Offering sacrifice of praise to God! (Heb.13:15)

Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, the fruit of lips

which make confession to his name.

Let no one use “the Bible did not forbid the use of whatever as reason for argument!”

D. Offering of prayers. (Acts 2:42)

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship,

in the breaking of bread and the prayers.

E. Continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching. (Ac.2:42, 20:7)

And upon the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread,

    Paul discoursed with them, ….

F. Sacrifice of offering. (Phil.4:15-19)

    1. Giving of your means to support evangelistic work is a way to increase deposit

to your personal bank account. (Phil.4:17)

    2. It is a sweet smelling sacrifice acceptable and well-pleasing to God.(Phil.4:18)

    3. Those practice will not be found in want! (Phil.4:19) 4. I see a 10% giving in Heb.7:8-10!

G. Purpose of worship to God. (Heb.10:24-25)

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,

but let us encourage one another-- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

H. Living a life that glorify God as a sacrifice to God essential also!

    1. Ac 2:47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.

And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. (Church grow!)

    2. Eph 5:1-2 Be imitators of God, as dearly loved children and live a life of love,

just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

    3. Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy,

to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--

this is your spiritual act of worship.

    4. 1 Pet2:5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a

holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

    5. Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did.

By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings.

And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.

I. Must be done according to the will of God.

    1. Mk 7:7 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.

    2. Lev.10:1-3 Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense;

and they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, contrary to his command.

So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the

LORD. Moses then said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke of when he said:

"`Among those who approach me I will show myself holy; in the sight of all the people I will be

        honored.'" Aaron remained silent.

May the Lord bless you and keep you forever and ever! (July 5, 2007)
