Conscience, law and quality of life. 3

Conscience, law and quality of life. 3

A. Law enforcement people can be a terror to some and a blessing to others

The difference is whether you are a law abiding citizen or a law breaker.

Some how we all know this is a fact of life in this world! 1 Tim.1:8-11

   1. But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully.

The law is beneficial to produce quality of life, if man uses it as it

was intended at the time of making it! 1 Tim.1:8

   2. Knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the       lawless

and unruly, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane,

for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators,

for abusers of themselves with men, for men stealers, for liars, for false swearers,

and if there be any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine. 1 Tim.1:9-

      a. Knowing this is very important! So we can be psychologically ready!

As this make a lot different in obeying the law.

We do what we must do and let God deal with them!

      b. This last item at the end of this list is very important too!

“If there be any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine”!

Anyone do anything contrary to what says in the Bible is a sin also!

   3. According to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, which was

committed to my trust. 1 Tim.1:11

This verse explains what sound doctrine mean in the last item!

Sound doctrine means the teaching which God entrusted Paul to preach!

This is why, Paul said in Gal.1:8. Anyone, even if an angel came to preach to you,

if he does not preach the same teaching which I preached, he will be condemned!

B. There is a saying among the Chinese culture.  Col. 3:12-17

It says: right with the law and peace in the heart.

Yes, I know peace in the heart is hard to come by!  But it is possible!

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with

compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Bear with one another and forgive whatever grievances you have against each other.

Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 3:12-13

   1. Remember what we learned last Sunday?

Come out of her my people so will not share in her sins… Come out and be separate,

let the Lord put you in a church of Christ!Rev.18:4-5, Ac.2:47

   2. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together

      in perfect unity. 3:14

If all believers love God and the brotherhood of believers, the church

will be in perfect unity. The Lord’s prayer in Jn.17:20-23 is fulfilled!

   3. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one

body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 3:15

   4. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one

another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual

songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 3:16

   5. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of

the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. 3:17

C. Avenge not yourselves! Ro.12:18-21

   1. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with all.

   2. Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath: for it is

written, Vengeance belong unto me; I will recompense, said the Lord. 12:19

   3. But if your enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for

in so doing thou shall heap coals of fire upon his head. 12:20

   4. Avenge produce more vengeance! Wasting life, energy and quality of life!

May the Lord bless you always!  Preach this on July 18, 2010.
