The embarrassment of taking out of context!
A. Lost job and found it back in 2 days!
1. July 19, 2010 Agriculture secretary order Georgia USDA top official to
resign saying an article reported her March speech to NAACP contain
racial remark. White house press secretary jumped in to condemn her!
2. NAACP release her entire 43 minutes and 15 second speech recording to
show her speech was taken out of context.
3. July 21 White house press secretary and agriculture secretary apologized
to her and reinstated her job. The article report was 3 minutes taken
from the 43 minute and 15 second speech. She was talking about while she
was young in 1986 she worked in a not for profit organization.
4. A white couple farmer came for help so that they don’t have to declare
bankrupt. She did not do her best to help them because they were white.
She knew that was wrong even though she successfully helped them.
5. In the same time this white couple said because of her help, they did
not have to declare bankrupt. And she became their life long friend.
6. The article started this episode because out of 43 minutes speech they
took 3 minutes of it and made it like she was a horrible racist!
7. Those who condemned her and those who wrote the report did not bother to
listen to her whole speech and made such a wrong mistake against her!
B. Who care when people taking the scriptures out of context!
Example 1, Acts 16:30-31.
Almost all denomination preachers are taking these 2 verses out of context
and preach a salvation for the soul in the Lord without water baptism!
Here is the scriptures as recorded in the Bible-->
He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-- you and your household."
Philippians jailer asked: What must I do to be saved? Acts 16:30
They said the answer is simple and clear and is recorded in 16:31
They replied: Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-- you and your household.
If people never bother to read on to verses 32, 33 and 34, they will never
know these two verses were taking out of context!
Verse 31 was a preliminary answer to be followed with main details!
Read 16:32 then you know: Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and
to all the others in his house.
(Preliminaryà preceding and leading to the main business.)
16:33 says: At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds;
then immediately he and all his family were baptized.
16:32-33 is the main business to follow!
That is preach and listen to the message of the Lord, repent and be baptized for forgiveness of sins!
16:34 says: The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them;
he was filled with joy….
They were filled with joy after baptism!
C. It is so simple, all you need is read on down to the next verse!
How can people not do it!? How can the scripture never dawn to them!?
I dare not answer these legitimate common sense questions!
But to fulfill my responsibility as a minister I must direct you to read 2 Cor.4:1-4.
And I let apostle Paul says it to you!
Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.
Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception,
nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly
we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers,
so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,….
