Why is it so hard for others to know the truth?

Why is it so hard for others to know the truth?  2 Tim. 3:1-7

A. But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come. 2 Tim. 3:1

1. There are 3 major times in human history according to the Bible:

The fathers time, Law of Moses time and Jesus’ New Testament time.

2. “The last days” is Jesus’ New Testament time where we are till the end of the world!

The world’s end day is the last day!

B. The scripture described how people behave at these last days!

For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers,

disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, implacable,

slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong,

puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness,

but denying its power.  Have nothing to do with them. 2 Tim. 3:2-5

Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God! Can anyone say this is not truth?

C. But the last one on the list is the worst of all!

1. As far as I, John Chan, can understand. This one is shocking and horrible

in the eyes of our Father in Heaven!  Read Jeremiah 5:30-31 and you will agree with me!

“A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy    lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But    what will you do in the end?”

I hope you still remember what I preached last Sunday!

Can you find one person on this earth who think preachers do not preach

according to what says in the Bible, a horrible and shocking thing!?

Majority of the world may not even aware of this one!

2. Men shall be having a form of godliness but denying its power!

When you see on TV people lay left hand on a Bible, raise right hand swear to God,

you know this is having a form of godliness but denying its power!

If godliness has its power on them, they would not need to swear! See Matt.5:37!

3. How many of you familiar with this statement: “Have nothing to do with them

Yes, congratulation it is Titus 3:10-11--> Warn a denominational person once, and

then warn him a second time.  After that, have nothing to do with him.

You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

I think denominational people didn’t even discover the word translated as “factious or divisive”

should be translated as “denominational” nowadays”!

After 1500 years collectively they still can’t understand!

4. Now you know why 2 Tim.3:12-13 say:

Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

As I can see, these people are having a good time worming their way into homes and

gain control over so many, deceiving and being deceived!

D. How did I get to discover these truth to share with you?

I was buying lots of commentaries trying to understand what says in the Bible!

One day suddenly dawn to me.

Commentaries were written by one man.

Different versions of the Bible each translated by a group of people!

Each claim to translate the exact meaning of the original text!

Why don’t I collect many different versions Bible.

This way I have a better chance to know the original meaning of the Bible!

Because of this,I got a hold on this word for word translation Bible published by a denomination!

It is in this Bible I found Titus 3:10-11.

The original word which others translated as “factious or divisive” shall be translated as

   “denomination” in today English!

This way, the meaning is clear to all people in our world today! Factious or divisive,

no one can relate to denomination!  But translated as denomination, everyone knows it!

   My question is this!

A denomination translated it then I discovered it!

Why is it others cannot discovered!

Even the denomination that put up the effort and resources to translate this Bible!

   Why don’t they find out!E. Conclusion: 2 Tim. 2:20

Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver,

but also of wood and of earth; and some unto honor, and some unto dishonor.

In the church of Christ each one has equal chance to become vessel of gold and silver or

become vessels of wood and clay.

And we know what would happen at the end of these two groups of people!

One group for reward in heaven anther group is to be thrown into fire!

May the Lord bless you and keep you always.

Preach this on September 5, 2010.
