What the end of the world will be like?! Rev.20:6-10
A. Rev.20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:
over these the second death hath no power;
but they shall be priests of God and of Christ,
and shall reign with him a thousand years.
1. He that has part in the 1st resurrection. Acts 2:38
The 1st resurrection is when people believe, repent and be baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of his or her sins!
Ro.6:3-4 tell us, baptism is to die, be buried and raise with Christ.
This baptism is the 1st resurrection!
2. At time of baptism, sins are forgiven, the 2nd death has no power over these people!
2nd death is being thrown into hell! Rev.20:15
3. The baptized people are the saved being added into the church! Acts 2:47
4. The baptized people in the church are priests of God and of Christ.1 peter 2:5
5. How these people are to reign with Christ for a 1000 years!? Matt.28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said:
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
This is how the church of Christ on earth reign with Christ a 1000 years!
Teaching all the people on earth to obey Jesus’ command!
A 1000 years is a long period of time which is Jesus’ New Testament time!
B. Rev.20:7-8 And when the thousand years are finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his
prison, and shall come forth to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the
earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war:
the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
1. Matt.22:10-13-->
“So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find,
both good and bad, and the wedding hall filled with guests.
But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing
wedding clothes. ‘Friend,' he asked, `how did you get in here without wedding clothes?'
The man was speechless.
"Then the king told the attendants,`Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside,
into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
When people are in the church of Christ, Satan is locked up.
2. 2 Tim.3:1-13-->
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 3:1
People will be having a form of godliness but denying its power…. 3:5
People will be always learning but never able to know the truth. 3:7
All that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 3:12
Evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceive and be deceived.
This is Satan being let loose!
C. Rev.20:9-10
And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about,
and the beloved city: and fire came down out of heaven, and devoured them.
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone,
where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night
for ever and ever.
1. The camp of the saints and the beloved city is the churches of Christ!
2. The day will come when church of Christ preachers are having great success in teaching
people to obey Jesus’ command to the point that threaten other religious establishment!
3. Evil people will come together to destroy the churches of Christ on earth!
4. It is at a time like this fire come down out of heaven to devour them!
5. The devil and deceivers and false prophet will be thrown into hell!
And the last day judgment is to follow! Rev.20:11-15
