New Testament Bible on patience. (Preach this on Nov.,28, 2010.)
A. We need this kind of mentality to practice patience!
Matt.11:28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and
you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
According to these scriptures, these are things we need to do to have this kind
of mentality in life on this earth!
1. We need to come to Jesus!
We can’t practice patience if we are constantly weary and burdened!
In a time like ours, almost everyone is weary ad burdened!
We need to come to Jesus to unload our weary and burden!
2. Jesus said: And you will find rest for your souls!
Our souls are constantly weary and burdened on what to eat and what to drink! (Luke 12:19)
3. Jesus said: For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matt.11:30
In reality, this kind of feeling is essential for us to practice patience!
When we feel our yoke is easy and our burden is light, patience is no problem!
This is why I always advise children to talk to parents when they see smile on their face!
4. Please recognize this one!
In reality, Jesus’ yoke and burden were hard and heavy beyond measure!
Look at Jesus’ prayed toward the end of his life! Lk.22:42-44
“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.
An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.
And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.”
All his life on earth, he knew exactly what will happen to him toward the end!
Despite all these, he said: My yoke is easy and my burden is light!
This is a great lesson we all have to learn to live a quality life!
With such painful event waiting for him down the road, still he could say:
My yoke is easy and my burden is light!
B. Yes, we can and we have to!
These are 2 of the scriptures that helped me all this time!
They can help you too!
1. Heb.13:6 So we say with confidence:
The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
2. Phil.4:13 I can do all things in him that strengthen me.
C. Here was the ultimate patience Jesus had practiced:
At the beginning of his ministry:
Matt.4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
Matt.10:7 These 12 Jesus sent out with the following instructions:
As you go, preach this message: The kingdom of heaven is near.
After his resurrection he appeared to them for 40 days he spoke to them about the kingdom of heaven! Acts 1:3
At the end they asked him: Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" Acts 1:6
All the time he taught them about the kingdom of heaven!
All the time they thought about the kingdom of Israel!
Now you know why Jesus had to baptized them with the Holy Spirit before he sent them out to preach the gospel!?
D. Conclusion:
Yes, God is love. 1 Jn.4:8 And the first item about love is patience! 1 Cor.13:4

1. Jn.8:31-44à
To the Jews who having believed him, Jesus said:
If you hold to myteaching, you are really my disciples.
Then you will know the truth and the truthwill set you free (sins). Jn.8:31-32
2. They said to Jesus: The only Father we have is God himself. Jn.8:41
3. Jesus said to them: If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. …
You belong to your father, the devil… Jn.8:44
4. Mk.8:33 But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter.
"Get behind me, Satan!" he said.
5. Here is the bottom line: to those who choose to carry out the devil’s desire,
Jesus had no patience and no mercy for them!
