Link up and understand the correct logical meaning!A. December 15, 2010 on the way back home from a visitation, I said to my wife, yes, I have not seen Mr. Huang for a long time! She said: Does he know? I said: You mean, whether he know the death of brother Yee? She said: Exactly1. This short conversation says a lot about understand God’s word in the Bible! a. How does she know which Mr. Huang I was talking about? b. How do I know she was talking about knowing the death of brother Yee? c. We understand each other perfectly! She knew I was talking about this specific Mr. Huang. I know she meant whether Mr. Huang know brother Yee’s death!2. This is not a miracle! This is the magic of linking up events that happened in the past and understand ideas in the present! a. In driving while passing Hicksville, I recalled there was this pastor Shi. 30 years ago he came to church to study Bible with me and later he and his family bought a house and live in Hicksville! b. About 15 years ago this particular Mr. Huang, a long time friend of brother Yee, participated in Bible study each Wednesday at the church building! c. This Mr. Huang attended the church Mr. Shi was pasturing in Long Island. d. My wife and I we both remember these happenings in the last 30 years! So we both link up these happenings and understand each other perfectly!B. Biblical examples for illustration: 1. Matt.10:9-10--> Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts; take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; …. In short, they took this teaching and asked me: When you go preach in China did you bring luggage and money? Yes, I did! “So you did not do according to what the Bible says!” they said! a. They failed to read the whole event from Matt.10:5-11! If they did, they will know right before this not bring along money & luggage, Jesus gave them power to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse leprosy and cast out demons! If I had these powers, I would not need to bring luggage and money! b. They failed to read 10:6, Jesus sent them to preach among Israel! I am American citizen preaching among Chinese in China! c. They failed to know Israelites practice taking care of strangers! Matt.10:11 says, they can search for worthy person and stay with them! Yes, Israelites are required to take care strangers. Job 31:32 d. If they are able to link up these events, they would not misunderstand these!2. Romans 10:9 This is a lot more important! This one is about the salvation of human souls! a. The denomination world takes Ro.10:9 and preach a message that says: Sinners need to confess with their mouth and believe Jesus as Lord in their heart they are saved from their sins! But we are sure this is misleading! b. First we know the idea that says, salvation before and without water baptism is different from what Jesus said in Mark 16:16! Different from what Paul about his own salvation in Acts 22:12-16! Different from what Peter preached in Acts 2:36-38! Different from what Philip preached in Acts 8:35-38!3. So, what is the correct link to understand Romans 10:9? a. From Romans 1:7 we know Romans 10:9 is for the saved saints in the church! b. From Romans 10:4 we know Paul was talking about Christ was the end of the Law! c. This should remind us about the heresy in Acts 15:1-5. e. Romans 10:9 was written to prevent saved saints in the church from being confused and fall from grace by that group of heretics in Acts 15:1-5! So we can’t take Ro.10:9 and preach a message that says, sinners may be saved just by confess with their mouth and believe in their hearts without baptism!C. The point is how do we get to know how to link up these scriptures!1. As I say all along, it is because we are chosen by Jehovah God to be in the church of Christ. This fitted us to be qualified to receive sound wisdom which Jehovah God lays up in store for the righteous! Proverb 2:7!2. If you still remember what I shared last Sunday, then you should know why the world has become unworthy of receiving sound wisdom from God!
