The new life after water baptism!
A. Continue the thought of last Sunday sermon on 2 Cor.11:2-4
Apostle Paul said: I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. …
1. Jealousy of God is about why it is hard for us to follow Jesus’ example!
But it is so easy for people to follow immoral people’s example!
Such as why is it so hard for children to follow parents’ good example!
But why is it so easy for children to follow parents’ bad example!
2. It takes so much for Paul to help those people to become Jesus’ followers.
But when others come teach them another gospel, they submit to them easily!
B. A look at human jealousy!
1. Ro.13:13à Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in reveling and
drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy.
As we can see jealousy is listed with reveling, drunkenness, chambering,
wantonness, strife as things not to do in the new life after water baptism!
2. James 3:16à For where jealousy and faction are, there is confusion and every vile deed.
Here we see, jealousy and faction are twins of confusion and evil works!
3. 1 Cor.3:3à For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you jealousy
and strife, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk after the manner of men?
Here we see, jealousy is a work of the flesh after the manner of men!
4. Gal.5:19-20à Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are (these):
fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities,
strife, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties, envying,
drunkenness, reveling, and such like; of which I forewarn you, even as
I did forewarn you, that they who practice such things shall not inherit the
kingdom of God.
Jealousy is among all these evil works of the flesh.
Apostle Paul made it clear, that they practice these things shall not inherit the kingdom of God!
C. What is the difference between godly jealousy and human jealousy!
1. As we can see from scriptures in item B and happenings in the world,
we know jealousy is evil and destructive in human life!
2. Human in the world cannot understand how can anyone has much jealousy and
hatred for evil but not resulting in evil works of the flesh!
As for myself, I am blessed! People do not understand how can I have so
much jealousy and hatred for evil, but not resulting in evil works of the flesh!
Those did me harms wrongfully, always stay far away from me!
Here is how and the difference!
We have the truth in the Bible and the help of the Holy Spirit within!
Human in the world do not have these!
Naturally they do not understand!
a. Avenge not yourselves, but give place unto the wrath of God:
for iis written, vengeance belong to me; I will recompense, said the Lord. Ro.12:19
Human on earth and all “believers” cannot understand anyone really practice
this teaching literally!
As all can see in the world, from the mighty to the hopeless,
when others done wrongful deed to them, they had to get even!
b. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your anger.Epn.4:26
Yes, my dear brethren, we can literally do this!
c. I can do all things in him that strengthened me! Phil.4:13
For we know him that said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense.
And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb.10:30-31.
d. Because I believe my God is faithful and just, he will do what he said!
In the meantime, I let God do that for me!
I will continue to do what God assigned me!
