Sweet, sour, bitter and hot!
A. Why do you detect angry tone in my preaching?
The other day, my wife cautioned me-->
watch out on your preaching tone!
Don’t use angry tone!
Some people may quote 1 Peter 3:15-16 on you!
1. Key words in this context are “Always be prepared to
give an answer to
everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness and respect.”
2. Specially this phrase--> “Do this with gentleness and respect”!
Initially, in a split second, I was in shock!
B. Matt.11:28-29 pop up in my mind, I was very happy!
1. Thank God for these scriptures and others came after that!
2. The scriptures--> Jesus said: Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Yes, Jesus said: “I am gentle and humble in heart”!
C. Thanks be to the Lord these scriptures come up!
1. John 2:13-15--> When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went
up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep
and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip
out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he
scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
2. In this occasion Jesus did not just sound angry, he acted like very angry!
Key words in this context are--> He made a whip out of cords and drove all
from the temple area. He scattered the coins of the money changers and
overturned their tables.
3. Please remember, Jesus said: I am gentle and humble in heart!
A man being gentle and humble in heart can act like this!
Thank God, if sometimes, someone detect angry tone in my preaching.
May I said: Because I follow the example of my Lord Jesus Christ!
Otherwise, why do you think, God keep me as a preacher these 50 some years!
D. The occasion Jesus restored a man’s withered hand on Sabbath day! Mk.3:1-5
1. Key words in this context--> Jesus looked round about on them with anger,
being grieved at the hardening of their heart.
2. What can I said? I say, to Satan’s disciples you cannot be gentle …!
Satan's disciples may take your gentleness as weakness and eat you up!
To children of God, your brethren in the church, you are gentle and humble!
These people will adore you and love you!
E. Yes, anyone wants to use James 1:19-20 against the Lord Jesus Christ?
1. James 1:19-20--> My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be
quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger
does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
2. Before you think about to try, you must read these 3 scriptures:
Heb.4:3 --> Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,
"So I declared on oath in my anger, `They shall never enter my rest.'"….
Eph.4:26--> Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your anger.
1 Cor.4:21--> What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love and a
spirit of gentleness?
