Church of Christ, the law abiding people!
A. 1 Peter 2:13-14-->
Be subject to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake:
whether to the king, as supreme; or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evil-doers and for praise to them that do well.
1. These instructions are clear. All believers in the church of Christ are to obey every ordinance of man!
2. It said, “for the Lord’s sake”! This means even if man’s ordinance does not deserve their obedience,
then they are to obey them for the Lord’s sake!
B. Romans 13:1-2-->
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the (powers) that be are ordained of God.
Therefore he that resists the power, with stand the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.
1. I, as a man grow up in Hong Kong understand these English words!
No one grow up and educated in the English world may say he does not know!
2. “Therefore he that resists the power, with stand the ordinance of God.”
I will simply repeat what says in the Bible. I let others answer to God!
C. Please don’t do these:
1. If we don’t risk our lives to go preach the gospel, billion people will be lost into hell! Here are my questions:
a. Without you God does not have others to help them?
b. Without you God is not able to help saved them? Don’t be too sure!
c. According to my knowledge, by reading their fund raising papers, I know
the “gospel” they preach is not the same gospel Paul preach in the book of Acts chapter 16:30-34 and Acts chapter 22:12-16!
d. According to what Paul says in Gal.1:8, they risk their physical life plus their souls will be condemned!
2. Don’t quote what Peter said in Acts 4:19 and Acts 5:29 against what Peter said in 1 Peter 2:13-14
and against what Paul said in Romans 13:1-2!
By the grace of God, I am here to help defend them!
Please study the contexts and study what those Roman governors did in Acts chapter 24 and chapter 25,
special attention on Acts chapter 25 verse 19!
May be you want to study the 100 years of Hong Kong history before 1997.
May be that will help! Because that was the same situation with Judea 2000 years ago!
As I say, by the grace of God, I have personal experience!
I rebelled our religious tradition. I was persecuted but not to death.
British governors do not care. But if I rebel against British governor authority. They would arrest me and put me in their jail!
By the way, let’s be clear. I did not rebel and was never arrested!
If you still don’t understand, my advice is that you stop preaching!
D. Please don’t say, but people are corrupted!
1. Anyone who read the Bible and not know how corrupted those Roman Empire people were!
Please do yourself a favor, stop teaching others!
2. For me, all I need is read Acts 8:32-33--> "He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,
and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his generation? For his life was taken from the earth."
Each time when I read these, tears come to my eyes. This reminded me, when I was a little boy without a father, how bad I was treated!
Please don’t cry for me, cry for those perishing ignorant people!
E. Conclusion: In such a corrupted generation Apostle Peter wrote:
Be subject to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake.
In such a corrupted generation Apostle Paul wrote:
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers.
