How do you rely on the grace of God for your salvation?

A. Most believers quote scriptures like these to brain wash themselves!

1. For by grace you have been saved through faith! Eph.2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves,

it is the gift of God-- by works, so that no one can boast.

2. God is full of compassion and mercy!

For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will

have compassion on whom I have compassion."

It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.

3. Depend on God’s love and rich in mercy! Eph.2:4-5

Because of his love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even

when we were dead in sins-- it is by grace you have been saved.

4. It is in God’s great mercy we are saved! 1 Peter 1:3-5

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection

of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or

fade-- kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power

until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

5. Here is the most popular one! John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him

shall not perish but have eternal life.

6. Scriptures like these filled their heads they are sure of their salvation!

B. They came up with lots of fine ways to set aside God’s commands! Such as:

1. Mtt.5:37-->

Simply let your yes, be yes, and your no, be no, anything beyond

this comes from the evil one!

To this, they say: It is the norm of our society! White lie is harmless!

As long as you do not mean to hurt others, it is O.K. to lie or cheat.

2. Mark 7:7-9--> They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men. You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men. And he said to them: You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!***Do you know anyone in your world who attend a church on Sunday willing to verify their church worship practice to see if there are things they do are not according to what says in the Bible? I know when this happened, churches of Christ will be filled with people!3. Titus 3:11--> Denominations are warp, sinful and self condemned! I can see, all over the world, so many mega denomination churches proudly declare to the world they have God’s calling, their denomination is growing fast…! God has showered upon them with so much grace…4. Yes, there is this one! Matt.6:33 Jesus said: seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ***Forget about Monday through Saturday! Let us just talk about the Lord’s day! On Sunday, how many really seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness? Or they have a fine way to set aside the command of God! C. Conclusion:1. The vast majority think that they can refuse to do the will of God and rely on God’s great love, full of mercy and unlimited grace for their salvation!***Read Matt.7:21-23 and beware!2. I rely on God’s great love, mercy and grace this way! Mark 9:24 I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief! (unbelief--> withholding belief) I rely on God’s grace by praying to God for an environment in which I can do His will recorded in the Bible! May the Lord bless you and keep you always!
