Subject: What do proverb 26:4-5 mean?

Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him.

Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will think that he is smart.

1. The fool declares:

Sinners in the world are saved by faith alone according to Ro.10:13.

Like the saved thief on the Cross in Lk.23:42-43!

   a. Answer a fool according to his folly!

Thank you for the wonderful message! I believe Jesus! I am saved!

The fool thinks he is smart!  People really listen to what he said!

35 years ago Peter yang was a preacher in his leisure time!

One day he came to me and said: Brother Chan I saved 10 people today!

I said, how? He said: I talked to people on the subway train!

And I had 10 of them prayed to accept Jesus as Lord!  They are saved!

According to Ro.10:13, Ac.16:30-31 and the saved thief on the cross.

I said, congratulation Mr. Yang, you are marvelous!

He was very happy and almost dancing!  He thought he was very smart!

   b. Do not answer a fool according to his folly!

Have you every think about Mark 16:15-16, Acts 2:36-38…?

Have you consider Mark 2:10 about why the saved thief on the cross was saved

      without water baptism?

Yes, Ro.10:13 says, everyone calls on the name of the Lord will be saved!

But you must read on all the way to verse 17 then you will know,

for one to call on the name of the Lord to be baptized for forgiveness of sins

he must have someone preach to him the words of the Lord, they must listen,

repent and be baptized for forgiveness of sins.

It is at the time after they listened to words of the Lord,

believed Jesus is Lord and Christ, repent and be baptized in the name of the Lord!

This is also what Jesus said, in Mark 16:15-16!

This is why we must go out to teach the people of the world that Jesus is Lord,

he that believe and is baptized will be saved!

   c. Read Romans 10:13-17 then you will know, it takes a church to send preacher to

preach words of the Lord. It takes people willing to listen.

It takes people willing to believe and do what says in the Bible.

It takes believers willing to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ

for forgiveness of their sins and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit!

   d. Anyone read Acts 2:21 will come to the same conclusion!

If they read all the way to Acts 2:38!

Calling on the name of the Lord is only a term to represent

      the whole package of message!

In the case of Acts 16:31, believe on the Lord you will be saved.

This is only a term to represent the whole process!

The whole process is Acts 16:30-34!

2. This answer may shock you!

But it is a good way to answer a fool according to his folly!

If you insist that you want to be saved exactly like the saved third on the cross,

then we have to construct a cross and nail you up their and get Jesus to come back

to be nail right besides you!

We know this is murderous and foolish! I be like him!
