Recognize the saved believers! Eph.4:21-32
A. Eph.4:21-->
If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
1. May it be known assuredly, the truth is in Jesus.
And is all recorded in the New Testament Bible, the church’s constitution!
2. One can hear and learn from others about Jesus, but taught by him is most important.
Through personal devotion which is prayers and Bible study one can be taught by him!
B. Eph.4:22-->
That ye put off concerning the former way of life, the old man,
which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts.
1. This is first and most important to Jesus’ believers!
Put off the former way of life, the old man!
2. Before one becomes a believer he lives in doing what his flesh desires say!
These are the works of the flesh! Gal.5:19-21
fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousies,
wraths, factions, divisions, parties, envy, drunkenness, reveling, and such like.
These are things which the flesh like to do--> fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousies, wraths,
factions, divisions, parties, envy, drunkenness, reveling, and such like;
of which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that they who practice
such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
a. Fornication--> Illicit sex, sex without marriage.
b. Uncleanness-->profligate living.
c. Lasciviousness-->filthy words, indecent body movement.
d. Idolatry-->Worship besides the one God in the Bible.
e. Sorcery-->perform magical arts to seduce people to worship idol.
f. Enmities, strife, jealousy, angers, rivalries, divisions, sects, envying.
All these have to do with denominationalism-->
A handful of people form their own kind of “church”!
g. Drunkenness, reveling, and the like.C. Why must we put off these things?
1. Those do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
2. This is why Col.3:5 says, believers are to put to death the old self!
3. This is a either you want to be in heaven or in hell thing!
It is as decisive as Jesus said in Matt.5:30--> if your right hand causes you to sin,
cut it off and throw it away.
It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
D. What must a believer do after water baptism?
1. Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. Eph.4:23
2. You put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Eph.4:24
3. Walk in newness of life, no longer be in bondage to sin. Ro.6:3-6
4. Apostle Paul simply put it this way in Gal.2:20-->
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live bu,t Christ living in me:
and that (life) which I now live in the flesh I live in faith,
(the faith) which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
E. conclusion:
A few simple day to day conducts to tell!
1. Is this person still lies? Can you trust what he said? Eph.4:25
2. Does he stay angry at others for days!?
Eph.4:26 Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your anger!
3. Do they forgive those who mistreated them? Eph.4:32, Matt.6:14-15
