Denomination is not possible among God's elect!

Denomination is not possible among God's elect!

A. God’s elect are able to bind together in perfect unity!

   Col.3:12-14

1. Main scripture for this study: Col.3:12-14

Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion,

kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving each other,

if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

   If you can’t, I can!

If God’s chosen people put on all these virtues + love, there would be no denomination!

   This is normal common sense!

   a. They are holy and beloved.

   b. They have a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering,

forbearing and forgiving for each other.

***And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity!

This is why I say with absolute certainty, there is no denomination possible  among God’s chosen people!

Anyone understand Col.3:12-14 will agree with me!

2. People With the above virtues plus love will have the will to fulfill the Lord’s prayer in Jn.17:20-23.

My prayer is not for them alone.

I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one,

Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.

May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:

I in them and you in me.

May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me

and have loved them even as you have loved me.

 3. People with the above virtues plus love are able to make this come true!

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

There is one body and one Spirit—   just as you were called to one hope when you were called--

one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Eph.4:1-6

B. What causes denomination?

James 4:1

The scripture as recorded: Whence wars and whence fighting among you?

Not hence, of your pleasures that war in your members?

 1. The question: What is the cause of wars and fighting among you?

 2. The answer: Your pleasures that war in your members!

   a. Pleasures mean men seek to gratify his desires of the flesh.

   b. 1 Peter 2:11 described “War in your members”!

Brethren, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lust, which war against the soul.

   c. After desire of the flesh over powered the soul it proceed to make war in the body of Christ, the church!

The desire for power, acclaim and pride of opinion made men into most vicious and brutal state of war.

The most vicious of all is to divide the church into denominations!

   d. This is what James said in James 1:14-15--> Each one is tempted by his own evil desire,

he is dragged away and enticed.

Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin,

when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

C. The result of denomination is death!

Titus 3:10-11

   A denominational man after a first and second admonition refuse;

knowing that such a one is perverted, and sinned, being self-condemned!
