Get heal while sickness is not too grievous!
God wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim.2:4
But in reality, how many have been saved and come to a knowledge of the truth?
A. But there is a sin that leads to death! 1 Jn.5:16
1. If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death,
he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death.
There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that. 1 Jn.5:16
2. Sickness that is not healed can lead to death of the body.
Sickness in the soul that is not healed in time it can lead to death of the soul also!
B. Give up our meeting together may be a sin that leads to death of the soul!
1. This is the process of a brother’s drop out of the church!
a. Once a while he failed to show up for Sunday worship!
We call to see what happen to him. No life threatening matter happened!
b. This once a while become more often in time!
Gradually, he stop Sunday worship altogether! Drop out process is completed!
Some become non-church goers. Some become a denomination believer! Either is dead of the soul!
c. In my 50 years of working in the Lord’s business,
I have yet to see one soul who completed this drop out process able to come back!
2. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift,
who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God
and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance,
because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and
subjecting him to public disgrace.
Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop
useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God.
But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed.
In the end it will be burned. Heb.6:4-8
Yes, this is reality! This happened to some of my dear ones in my family!
C. Why is giving up meeting together so grievous? Heb.10:25-29
1. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised: Heb.10:23
Once a person is saved at time of baptism, he is to hold fast to his faith!
2. And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works.10:24
All the saved are to spur each other unto love and good works!
3. Not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting;
and so much the more as you see the day drawing nigh. 10:25
It is each one’s responsibility not to forsake our own assembling together!
Please remember, it is our own assembling together!
4. The reason why forsake our own assembling together is so grievous!10:26-27
For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth,
there remain no more a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment,
and a fierceness of fire which shall devour the adversaries.
5. It is more serious than failed to obey the law of Moses! 10:28!
How more serious is it? Heb.10:29
Forsake our own assembling together is a trodden under foot the Son of God.
The Son came to die for this our own assembling together!
Forsake our own assembling together is a counted the blood of the covenant an unholy thing. Heb.10:29
Christ bought this our own assembling together with his own blood.Ac.20:28
Forsake our own assembling together is a done despite unto the Spirit of grace! Heb.10:29
To this all you need is think about the first time you forsake our own assembling together how you felt within!
May the Lord bless you and keep you always! Written on November 5, 2011.
