Why believe? Blessed is the home whose God is the Lord!
Scriptures for this study: Col.3:15-21
A. Scripture as recorded:
3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.
And be thankful.
3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
3:17 And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
3:18 Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.
3:21 Fathers, provoke not your children, that they be not discouraged.
B. Chinese proverb: Harmonious home flourish everything!
1. Harmonious home make a peaceful society!
We all look for a peaceful society to live in!
2. Yes, let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, harmony is in the home!
Everyone has the same aspiration walking toward the same direction!
Harmony in the home makes everything flourish! Col.3:15
3. Everyone worship God on Sunday in the church of Christ and be thankful!
Each family is a unit in the body of Christ! Col.3:15
All men should be thankful to God if this happened!
C. How is this possible? Col.3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
1. Bible study in the home as a family.
2. Bible study in the church together as a body of Christ.
3. Worship together in the church on Sunday!
4. Everyone respect the Lord with the same attitude!
D. Do all things in the name of the Lord! Col.3:17
And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
1. Each one must realize it is the Lord makes things we enjoy possible!
2. I do this because the Lord said so! I do this in the name of the Lord!
E. Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 3:18
1. A woman marry a man, be Mrs, his name and give birth to children with him!
Apostle Paul said this is a great mystery! Eph.5:32
2. I say, great is the woman! This is God’s design! Thanks be to God!
A man knows to say this is blessed already! The world is much peaceful!
3. A woman cannot marry a man that is not in the Lord! 2 Cor.6:14
If she does, she will end up in hell with him!
Because you must be in subjection to him! What can you expect,
if this man is not in the Lord with you in the church?! In the same church of Christ!
If you are a man, you have a better chance! God made it this way!
As your wife, according to Col.3:18 she has to be in your subjection!
All you need to do is tell her, you want her to be in the church with you!
If she refuses, she is not Christian! You can overwhelm her with much love!
She will either surrender or ask to leave!
Then you have a 2nd chance to marry a Christian woman! 1 Cor.7:15
F. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them! 1 Col.3:19
G. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord!
H. Fathers, provoke not your children, that they be not discouraged. Col.3:21
