The eternal salvation of our invisible soul! 1 Peter 1:8-9
A. Right now technology allows us to use a TV set to watch what is invisible with our physical eyes!
May be someday we can use something else to watch the invisible soul and spirit!
1. The other day, Matthew told us this little story. I also heard this other times before!
A father told his little boy to come to him. There is nothing stand in between the two of them.
But the little boy walked a big curve then come to where his father was!
The father asked the little boy, why did he do that?
The boy said: Uncle is sitting there!
This little boy saw a man sitting there, blocked his way to his father, so he took the big curve!
2. A story about King Saul inquired of Samuel after Samuel was dead! 1 Sam.28:3-19
a. Samuel was dead and buried. King Saul was afraid of the army of the Philistine. 28:3-5
b. He asked God on what to do! God did not answer him. 28:6
c. He found a woman who is a medium to bring Samuel from the dead! 28:7-11
d. Samuel said: Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up? 28:15
Saul said: The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me.
He no longer answers me. So I have called on you to tell me what to do. 28:15
3. My personal experience!I had seen one of these medium woman who was able to call up any dead people and speak in their specific distinctive voice!
All the souls she called up were crying bitterly and asking for help!
4. The story about Lazarus and the rich man. Lk.16:22-24
a. Lazarus, the beggar died and the rich man also died. 16:22
b. In Hades the rich man was in torment. He saw Lazarus in paradise with Abraham.
c. He cried and said: Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus,
that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue,
for I am in anguish in this flame!
B. For the unseen Moses sacrifice all his riches of Egypt! Heb.11:24-27
1. By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
choosing rather to share ill treatment with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin fora season. 11;24-25
2. He accounted the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the recompense of reward. 11:26
3. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible! (Experienced the existence of God!)
C. Apostle Paul put up everything for the unseen! Phil.1:21-28
1. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.1:21
2. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 1:22
3. I am torn in between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;
but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 1:23-24
4. Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.
Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit,
contending as one man for the faith of the gospel without frightened in any way by those who oppose you.
This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved – and that by God. 1:25-27
D. A soul that is not saved may be in hell eternally!
1. The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will thefather share the guilt of the son.
The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him,the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him. Eze.18:20
2. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible
and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8-9
May the Lord bless you and keep you always! Preach this on March 4, 2012.
