The world is intoxicated with the wine of her adultery except us! Rev.17:1-2
The fact that we are learning this sermon today is a proof of this subject statement!
A. Rev.17:1-2--> One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me:
Come, I will show you the punishment of the great whore, who sits on many waters.
With her kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.
1. This great whore is religion. Many waters are people of the world.
2. With her kings of the earth committed adultery means kings and religion work together to make people in their nations to become intoxicated with religious teachings.
3. With success as described--> People of the earth are intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries!
B. Biblical truth and historic facts to prove the point!
1. Matt.23:9--> Do not call anyone on earth `father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.
2. Ten years ago 4 presidents, one in office at the time with 3 formers from the most powerful nation
knelt besides a dead body of a religious establishment’ leader for three minutes to pay respect!
This is extreme intoxication with the wine of religious adulteries! Total lost of mind and self-respect!
3. Besides being intoxicated with the wine of religious adulteries, what else can make 4 presidents
from the most powerful nation to kneel besides a dead body to pay homage for 3 minutes!
4. How can people as prominent as these not know Matt.23:9?
They all have world respected pastors as their close ally!
C. This happened before in the nation of Israel! Jer.23:14-16
And among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen something horrible:
They commit adultery and live a lie. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns from his wickedness.
They are all like Sodom to me; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah.
Therefore, this is what the LORD Almighty says concerning the prophets:
I will make them eat bitter food and drink poisoned water, because from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has spread throughout the land.
This is what the LORD Almighty says:
Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes.
They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.
Can anyone find any more powerful religious drug than this!?
1. Religion and kings commit adultery and live a lie!
Look at all the “Jesus’ believing” nations on earth today and you will see!
2. In doing so they literally strengthen the hands of evildoers!
Giving God’s adversaries plenty ammunitions to attack and prevent the truth in the Bible and the church which Christ came to establish spread in this world!
3. Ungodliness has spread throughout the world because of this religious intoxication!
4. God’s prophets prophesied: Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes
. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord!
C. 2760 year ago Proverb 23:29-35 described what is happening in this world today!
1. Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaining?
Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes?
***The rulers and people of all the “Jesus’ believing” nations on earth today!2. How does this happened?
They tarry long at the wine of religious adultery! Pro.23:30
The prophet told them: Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it sparkled in the cup, when it goes down smoothly.
The prophet also told them the reason why they must stay away from the wine of her adulteries!
The last it bites like a serpent, and sting like an adder. Your eyes shall behold strange things,
And thy heart shall utter perverse things. Yea, you shall be as he that lies down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lies upon the top of a mast.
They have stricken me, and I was not hurt; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.
*** Are they listening? You know the answer!
