I guess God has dignity and pride too!
A. Yes, God has dignity and pride! Lev.10:1-3
1. Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense;
and they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, contrary to his command.
So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD.
Moses then said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke of when he said:
"`Among those who approach me I will show myself holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.'"
Aaron remained silent.
2. Matt.7:21-23
Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name,
and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'
Then I will tell them plainly, `I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers.
3. As Jesus stated, these people may preach, cast out demons, work miracles in his name,
but the did not do the will of the Father who is in heaven. He called them evil doers!
B. God wants everyone who is called by his name to glorify him!
1. Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory…. Isa.43:7
2. Do not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God, I am the Lord.Lev.19:12
3. For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight, said the Lord;
they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it….
And now therefore thus said the Lord God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say,
It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: Jer.7:30-34
C. Say that you believe Jesus is Lord but not do what he said!
1. This was how the king’s body guards did it! Matt.27:27-31
Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him.
They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head.
They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said.
They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again.
After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him.
Then they led him away to crucify him.
2. Yes, we know the governor's soldiers did these to his body intended to ridicule him!
This was the worst kind of mocking to any man in the world!
We know at the time Jesus had the power to destroy them and cast them into hell right there!
3. It was lucky to them! Jesus was determined to go through with that to save sinners in the world!
Other wise, I think, they would all be dead and in hell right then!
Romans 3:25-26-->
Whom God had set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to show his righteousness
for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare,
I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus.
D. Confess Jesus is Lord but not do what he said you made Jesus a laughing stock to Satan!
1. About 35 years ago I wrote this article--> Can man believes Jesus and not do what Jesus said?
I asked lots of people they all gave me this same simple answer--> No, cannot!
Even non-believers know one who believes Jesus has to do what Jesus said!
In reality, about a billion of people in this world are making Jesus a laughing stock this way!
In the one hand they say, they believe Jesus is Lord. In the other hand they don’t do what he said!
If they do what Jesus said, they will all be in the churches of Christ all over the world!
2. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift,
who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age,
if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance,
because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Heb.6:4-6
3. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.
A man reaps what he sows. For he that sow unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption;
but he that sow unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life. Gal.6:7-8
May the Lord bless you and keep you always!
