Why do I stick to what says in the Bible!?

          Why do I stick to what says in the Bible!?

A. Scriptures for this study: 2 Tim.4:1-5

     I charge (thee) in the sight of God, and of Christ Jesus, who shall judge the living and the dead,

     and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be urgent in season, out of season;

     reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

     For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine;

     but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts;

    and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.

    But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist,

    discharge all the duties of your ministry.

B. As I said, I am a realistic and profit oriented man!

1. I like to put up the least and get the most!    Everyone comes to N.Y.C. to make U.S. money!

    I am determined not to make money!

    I am determined to preach the word in the Bible!

    Jesus said: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and lost his own soul?

    Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matt.16:26

   Yes, I have seen many not just lost their souls in their money making works but also their health?

2. When I can have the best, I will not settle for the 2nd!

     In a changing world like ours, something never changed is very important to me!

     I have seen the world changed, people changed, everything around me is changing too!

     I try my best to hold on to what is never changed!

    Jesus said: Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Matt 24:35

C. I believe God made me an evangelist!

1. Paul said, as an evangelist, his responsibility is to save himself and those listen to him!

     Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because

     if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1 Tim.4:16

2. It is my responsibility to preach what says in the Bible!

   Yes, I have to preach what says in the Bible in season and out of season!

    Especially in a generation like ours!

   As you all can see, I preach the truth in the Bible!

3. This is Jesus’ example! John 7:16

    Jesus therefore answered them and said: My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me.

4. This the time: People will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears,

    will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts;

    and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.

    But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an  evangelist,

    discharge all the duties of your ministry.

    I have to be true to these words of the Bible!

5. I want to be able to say these!

    a. Paul looked straight at the Sanhedrin and said:

        My brothers, I have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this day." Acts 23:1

    b. But when the Jews opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest

        and said to them: Your blood be on your own heads! I am clear of my responsibility…. Acts 18:6

D. These are the responsibilities of those who hear my preaching:

1.  Acts 2:40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them:

     Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.

2. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the   engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.  James 1:21

3. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.  James 1:22

E. Conclusion:  This is the ultimate!

1 Sam.8:7 And the LORD told him: Listen to all that the people are saying to you;

 it is not you  they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.

 May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this on June 29, 2012.
