Why do I stick to what says in the Bible? (2)

Why do I stick to what says in the Bible? (2)

A. So that your faith may be based on the power of God!

    As Apostle Paul said:

My message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom,

     but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power;

that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men,

but in the power of God. 1 Cor.2:4-5

B. Scriptures for this study: 2 Cor.1:18-22

1. But as surely as God is faithful,

our message to you is not "Yes" and "No." 1:18

2. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy,

was not "Yes" and "No," but in him it has always been "Yes."  1:19

3. For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ.

And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.  1:20

4. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ.

He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.1:21-22

C. All say they believe and teach according to what says in the Bible!

1. But many of the things they teach are not what says in the Bible!

Let me just name a few here:

The name of their church is not from what says in the Bible!

The way they worship God on Sunday is not what says in the Bible!

The way and the reason of water baptism are not what says in the Bible!

The method of entering the kingdom of heaven is not what says in the Bible!

2. It is sad to say this is what says in the Bible!

   (1) The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 1 Tim.4:1

   (2) They are all deceiving and being deceived. 2Tim.3:13

D. Yes, I know God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16

1. As I can see all of my life, demons have been using this verse to deceive people and themselves!

But why do you think God has to present Jesus as a sacrifice of atonement?

2. Yes, God love the world so much that he gave his only Son to die for them

so that who so ever believe on him shall not perish but have eternal life! John 3:16

3. Read what these scriptures say!

Romans 3:25-26--> Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness

for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness:

that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believe in Jesus. Ro.3:25-26

How important is it to God being righteous?

God sacrificed his only Son for it!

What is important to you that you would sacrifice your only son for it?

How do you tell who is a child of God or a child of the devil? 1 John 3:10

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:

whosoever do not do righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

E. Here are some other reasons!

1. I want to save myself and those who hear me! 1 Tim.4:16

Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

2. I have no other choice! 1 Peter 4:11

If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. …

3. I don’t to be condemned in hell! Gal.1:8

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to   you, let him be eternally condemned!

4. I hated so much in doing things that will end up in vain!

They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men. Mark 7:7

5. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you… 1 Cor.15:2

May the Lord bless you and keep you always! Preach this on July 8, 2012.
