A. Protect your family?
Be a child of God, join the family of the righteous! Ro.14:17
1. He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. Pro.2:7
2. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother. 1Jn 3:10
B. Protect your family?
Abide by the law!
1. Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers:
for there is no power but of God; and the power that be are ordained of God.
Therefore he that resists the power, withstands the ordinance of God:
and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.
For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil.
And would thou have no fear of the power?
do that which is good, and thou shall have praise from the same:
for he is a minister of God to thee for good.
But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain:
for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that does evil. Ro.13:1-4
2. When Roman official conspired to kill Paul, this was what he did! Acts 25:8-12
a. Abide by the law. Acts 25:8
Then Paul made his defense:
"I have done nothing wrong against the law of the Jews or against he temple or against Caesar."
b. Even when the official was corrupt! Acts 25:9
Festus, wishing to do the Jews a favor, said to Paul,
"Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem and stand trial before me there on these charges?"
(This was a trap to kill Paul! They plotted, on the way to Jerusalem to ambush him!)
c. Yes, even in front of corrupt official, Paul relied on the law for protection! Acts 25:10-11
Paul answered: "I am now standing before Caesar's court, where I ought to be tried.
I have not done any wrong to the Jews, as you yourself know very well.
If, however, I am guilty of doing anything deserving death, I do not refuse to die.
But if the charges brought against me by these Jews are not true,
no one has the right to hand me over to them. I appeal to Caesar!"
d. He was protected for the time being! Acts 25:12
After Festus had conferred with his council, he declared:
"You have appealed to Caesar. To Caesar you will go!"
C. Protect your family?
Buy a gun if you have to!
Have you heard of this saying? These are thugs! These were not human!
Please do not be mad at me! I am not trying to teach people to be violence!
But this is reality!
Jesus taught this himself! Luke 22:35-37
Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?"
"Nothing," they answered.
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip:
and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
It is written: `And he was numbered with the transgressors';
and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me.
Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment."
***This is clear to me!
When live among thugs, a gun for protection is more reliable and immediate!
Thank God, in America we are entitled to defend ourselves and our family!
D. Yes, I know all about these teachings too!
1. Run away from thugs! Matt.10:23
2. Avenge not thyself! Ro.12:19
3. Turn the other cheek! Matt.5:394. Forgive those who sinned against you! Matt.6:14-15
E. Conclusion: I say, the righteous has more right to live! Pro.21:15
When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.
When thugs are dead, we can all live in peace!
