Can’t attend worship, can’t believe Jesus!
A. This is reality even in the non-believing world!
In the last 30 years a few people asked me to writer a litter to prove that they had attended our service!
They present this letter to immigration office to prove that they had participated in a religious activity!
Immigration office counts only bodily participated in a religious activity!
You can’t just tell them, I confess Jesus is my Lord with my mouth.
And I believe Jesus as my Lord with my heart!
They count bodily participation!
B. I found it is the same when comes to be a member of the church!
1. I don’t just say, if you can’t worship God on Sunday, you can’t believe Jesus!
I also say, if you can’t practice honesty in life, you can’t believe Jesus either!
Jesus said: Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Anything beyond this comes from the evil one!
People like to ask me this same question: You mean they have to go to hell?
This is always my answer: You have to ask God for that. I just tell you what says in the Bible!
2. Church is described as a human body made up by many different parts! Romans 12:3-5
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you:
Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought,
but rather think of yourself with sober judgment,
in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
Just as each of us has one body with many members,
and these members do not all have the same function,
so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Normal situation all parts of a body are in one place at one time!
When members of this body meet here, you are not here, you are not a member of this body!
3. Church is Jesus’ believers meet here!
a. Greet also the church (Jesus’ believers) that meets at their house…. Romans 16:5
When Jesus’ believers meet here, and you are not one of these, you are not a believer!
b. The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings.
Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord,
and so does the church that meets at their house. 1 Cor.16:19
When Jesus’ believers meet here, and you are not one of them, you are not a believer!
c. When Jesus’ believers meet here and you are not here! You are not a Jesus’ believer!
C. How grievous is to forsake our own assembling together? Heb.10:25-29
1. This is a command-->Thou shall not forsake our own assembling together. Heb.10:25
2. Forsake our own assembling together, there is no sacrifice for sins left for you!
3. Forsake assembly to worship God is a trampling the Son of God under foot. Heb.10:29
4. Forsake Sunday worship to God is counted the blood of Christ as an unholy thing. Heb.10:29
5. Forsake Sunday worship to God is a done despite to the Spirit of grace! Heb.10:29
D. Why forsake our own assembling together is so grievous?
1. Jesus gave up his life for it! And you can forsake it for some reasons! Eph.5:25
2. Jesus bought it with his own blood! And you can forsake it for some reason! Acts 20:28
3. If Jesus’ believers do not meet to worship God, the church is no more!4.
I think this is how Satan succeeded to fool believers in Europe
to practice forsaking worship God on Sunday and still claim to be believers!
This is how--> 1st Satan fool them to think believe Jesus is Christianity!
2nd Satan fool them to think they don’t have to attend Sunday worship to be a Jesus’ believer!
E. Conclusion, a real life story to help you understand!
32 years ago a man from Taiwan came to church and said he was a member of church of Christ in Taiwan.
He just came to New York need to find job to make ends meet.
I asked him to patch up the broken tiles down stair and gave him $2000.00.
He did the job and got $2000.00 then he disappeared for about 5 years.
One Wednesday evening during our Chinese Bible study.
He came and said: Brother Chan, thank God,
I had started a renovation and construction company and I had bought 2 trucks.
Can I use the church parking lot to park my 2 trucks! Because commercial truck can’t park on street night time!
Yes, I remember him and recognized him!
This was my answer to him: Do you know that you have not come to church for about 5 years!
If I and others do what you do, will we still have a church here?
The church has ceased to be 5 years ago! He disappeared again since!
That is why I say, if you can’t attend Sunday worship, you can’t believe Jesus!
My advice to all in this world:
If you can’t obey Jesus’ teaching, it is better that you don’t claim to be a Jesus’ believer!
Because Jesus label this kind of people as children of the devil! John 8:30-44.
