Why must I believe Jesus in the church of Christ?
A. Because we really believe Jesus is Lord!
1. If we really believe Jesus is Lord, we must do what he said!
2. If we say we believe Jesus is Lord and not do what he said, He said we are children of the devil!
Please read John 8:31-44. It is clearly recorded!
3. Because under the Holy Spirit’s guidance, Peter said God has made Jesus Lord and Christ! Acts 2:36
4. Because God wants us to listen to him! Matt.17:5
While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said:
This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!
5. …And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Acts 2:47
From Romans.16:16 we know at that time the churches were churches of Christ!
6. If we believe Jesus is Lord, we listen to him. If we listen to him, we will stay where he put us!
B. Because the church of Christ preaches the same gospel seed which Apostle Paul preached!
1. Apostle Paul warned the world with these words--> But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach
any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Gal.1:8
2. Anyone who preaches the same gospel seed, he must produce church of Christ!
Jesus had made it clear. Preaching is like farmers sowing the seed and the seed is the word of God!
3. 2000 years ago, when Paul and others preach that gospel seed they all produced church of Christ.
Today or at any time, anywhere, anyone preaches the same gospel seed he must produce the same
churches of Christ. If they don’t produce church of Christ, the only possibility is that they had preach a
different gospel! In that case they will be condemned!
This is simple common sense, one does not need much education to know!
C. Because God lays up sound wisdom for the church of Christ! Proverb 2:7
1. In case some do not understand, this is the logic!
a. pro.2:7--> God lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
b. Ro.14:17--> For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy
in the Holy Ghost.
c. Eph 2:19--> Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's
people and members of God's household.
2. Otherwise, why do you think we have 1 Peter 4:11 as our slogan!
Who else has this slogan and able to stick to it!
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability
which God gives: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise…
3. In order to know the truth which can save my soul, I must believe Jesus in the church of Christ!
James 1:21--> Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with
meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
D. If I don’t believe Jesus in the church of Christ, I be better off be an unbeliever!
1. For if I don’t believe Jesus in the church of Christ, I be may be a member of a denomination!
Titus 3:10-11--> Warn a denomination person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have
nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.
2. 2 John 1:9-11--> Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have
God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and
does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes
him shares in his wicked work.
3. Matt.7:21-23--> Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only
he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did
we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?
Then I will tell them plainly, `I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
4. Who else is able to preach these besides us, the church of Christ! Thank God praise the Lord!
