Subject: The bottom is this, did you do what this scripture says?

1. Acts 4:24-26-->

   When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.

  "Sovereign Lord," they said, "you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.

   You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:

  Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?

   The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One.'

2. Matthew 7:21-23-->

   Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven,

   but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

   Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in  your name,

   and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'

   Then I will tell them plainly, `I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers.

***This is the bottom line!

   How evil can these people be?

   Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?

   The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One.'

Today, the question is this--> Did you do what this very scripture says?

A. People argue about Mk.16:16 on salvation of the soul.

     Here is the scripture--> Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, …

     Yes, they use other scriptures such as Jn. 3:16, 3:36…

     they even use the 2nd part of this verse to argue!

     Here is the bottom line--> Did you do what this very scripture says?

     Why do they argue? They refuse to do what this very scripture says!

B. People argue about the name of the church!  Ro.16:16

     Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you. Romans 16:16

     And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church… Matt.16:18

    Why do people argue about the name of the church?  They refuse to use this name!

    Here is the bottom line-->

    Did you do what this very scripture says?

C. People argue about taking the Lord supper on Sunday worship. Acts 20:7

     And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread,...

    Why do people argue? They refuse to do what this scripture says!

    Here is the bottom line-->

    Did you do what this scripture says?

D. People argue about sacrifice of praise to God on Sunday worship. Heb.13:15

     Here is what this scripture says-->

     By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to  God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

    Why do people argue? They sing with their lips plus instrumental music!

    Here is the bottom line-->

    Did you do what this very scripture says?

E. People argue about submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake…

     Here is 1 Peter 2:13 says-->

     Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake:,…

     Why do people argue?

     They go to a country and preach against that country’s ordinance!

     Yes, they have lots of good sounding arguments!

     But here is the bottom line-->

     They refuse to do what this very scripture says!

Conclusion: This is what we do!

1. For salvation of the soul-->

   Believe, repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins.. Acts 2:36-38

  When others ask, did you do what John 3:16,3:36 say?

  We simple say, yes, included!

  Just quote the scripture, no argument, no explanations!

  Can others do this?  No, they argue!

2. For the name of the church, we are churches of Christ.  Ro.16:16, Matt.16:18…

   Just quote scriptures, no argument, no explanations!

   Can others do this? No, they argue!

3. Anyone argue about taking the Lord supper on Sunday worship in the churches of Christ? No!

   But why do others argue?

   They do not do what this scripture says!

  What does this mean?

  Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?

  The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One.'

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!
