How do men seek to bring about the righteousness of God?

How do men seek to bring about the righteousness of God?

A. Last Sunday, February 17, 2013, we learned about how to dissolve anger and violent crimes.

We know, if men give up seeking to bring about their own kind of righteousness, instead all come

to seek to bring about the righteousness of God, anger and violent crimes will disappear!

This time we will talk about how do men seek to bring about the righteousness of God.

B. Scriptures for this study: James 1:19-22

A. You know, my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

1. This scripture looks like this--> Swift to hear and slow to speak is what we must do in life.

And the slow to wrath is the result of that practice!

2. In reality God designed each man has two ears but one tongue.

We know ears are for listening and tongue is for speaking!

This means man should listen twice as fast as he speaks!

3. Two ears are always open. This means man should be ready to receive instructions at all time.

4. The tongue is confined within the mouth and surrounded by 32 sharp teeth ready to bite!

This means the tongue has to speak carefully! Otherwise, the teeth are ready to punish it!

5. A man asked Socrates to teach him how to do speech. He said: I have to charge you twice the fee!

He asked: Why? His answer: I have to teach you how to control your tongue and then I have to teach

    you how to use it!

C. Here are what other scriptures said:

1. In the multitude of words there wanted not sin: but he that refrains his lips is wise.  Pro.10:19

2. He that guard his mouth keep his life; he that open wide his lips shall have destruction. Pro.13:3

3. See thou a man that is hasty in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him. Pro.29:20

4. And Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

but in every nation he that fear him, and work righteousness, is acceptable to him. Acts 10:34-35

D. James 1:20 for the wrath of man work not the righteousness of God.

1. More scriptures instruction for Jesus’ followers:

Seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Mt.6:33

2. All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them:

for this is the law and the prophets. Matt.7:12

3. He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly,

and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God? Mic.6:8

4. God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything,

may abound unto every good work: as it is written, He hath scattered abroad, he hath given to the

poor; His righteousness abides for ever.  2 Cor,9:8-9

E. This is how we can help us and others become able to seek to bring about the righteousness of God!

1. Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the

implanted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21

This means we clean up our own hearts and minds and fill them with God’s word!

2. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, eluding your own selves. James 1:22

This means we must really practice swift to listen, slow to speak and slow to wrath in daily living!

We must really do what says in the Bible!

3. I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--

for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and

holiness.  This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to

a knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim. 2:1-4

4. For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous

shall live by faith. Romans 1:17

This means we must trust in the Lord, be a Jesus follower, live a life doing what he said! Ro.1:17

Conclusion: Yes, God love the world so much.  We must love them too!

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this on March 3, 2013.
