Jesus wept.

Jesus wept.

A. Scriptures for this study is John 11:35

1. Jesus had a friend and his name is Lazarus! 11:11

2. He was sick and died! 11:14

3. Many Jews came to comfort them! Jesus also went to comfort them. 11:17-19

4. Jesus said to Martha: I am the resurrection and the life.

He who believes I me will live, even though he

dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this? 11:25-26

5. She replied: Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come. 11:27

6. Jesus saw Mary weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was moved in spirit and troubled. 11:33

7. Jesus wept. John 11:35

8. Then the Jews said: See how he loved him! 11:36

9. Jesus once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. 11:38

10. Jesus said: Take away the stone. Martha said: Lord, by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days! 11:39

11. Jesus called in a loud voice: Lazarus, come out! 11:43

12, The dead man came out….11:44

13. Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, put their faith in him.

But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done! 11:45-46

14. People guess why Jesus wept!

a. Yes, this was sympathizing tears!

b. Jesus has more reason to cry! This is the greatest miracle he could perform to convince people that he is the Christ!

It was so that all the people will say what Martha had said-->

Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come. 11:27

c. Jesus could get Lazarus come back to life!  Why did he have to weep!?

Who can understand what Jesus feel?

B. Jesus look at Jerusalem and he said: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you,

how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.  Matt.23:37

C. A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him.

    Jesus turned and said to them: Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me;

weep for yourselves and for your children.

For the time will come when you will say,

`Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!'

Then "`they will say to the mountains, "Fall on us!" and to the hills, "Cover us!" ' Luke 23:27-30

D. One who is able to understand what Jesus feel is Apostle Paul!

1. I speak the truth in Christ-- I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit—

I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.

For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race. Romans 9:1-3

2. Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.

Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own,

they did not submit to God's righteousness. Romans 10:1-3

3. Please don’t go to hades to find out how terrible it is in hell! Matt.13:47-50

Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of  fish.

When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore.

Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away.

This is how it will be at the end of the age.

The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace,

where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

E. Please don’t make Jesus wept for you! John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,

that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,

but to save the world through him.

If people end up in hell, it is because they chose to be there!

Jesus weep for them but will not compromise his righteousness nature to save them!

As I have preached last Sunday! Jesus said hell is prepared for Satan and its angels!

Please do not go there with them! Please chose heaven to be with God!

May the Lord bless you and keep you always! Preach this on May 26, 2013.
