Find reason to obey or find excuse to disobey?

Find reason to obey or find excuse to disobey? 2

Please take notice: The Bible says each is to test his own actions. Gal.6:4

A. Eph.6:1à Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. NIV, NKJV, SEV, …

TEVà Children, it is your Christian duty to obey your parents, for this is the right thing to do.

1. I think this translation is simple and more fitted to what says in Gal.6:4-5

2. This is also fitted with what says in Eze.18:4à The soul who sins is the one who will die!

3. This is also fitted with Ro.14:12 à Each is to give an account of himself to God!

4. This is also fitted with Rev.20:11-14, Each is judged according to what he had done!

5. This is also how I know this is the correct translation!

B. Eph.6:2-3à  “Honor your father and mother"-- which is the first commandment with a promise--

that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.

1. This one is connected with verse one. This is why this one follows the first one!

2. This is how we honor our parents! Matt.5:15-16à Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.

Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men,

that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

C. I found the new command to love one another is connected with honor your father and mother.

1.  We have a new command to love one another. But I have yet to find a new commandment that says love your father and mother!

If you find one please let me know!

Yes, Jesus said: A new command I give you:

Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. John 13:34

2. Peter repeated it this wayà

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.

3. 1 John.5:3 put it this way:

This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome¡£

D. This is the logic!

1. Jesus on who is my mother and who are my brothers? Matt.12:48-50

Pointing to his disciples, he said: Here are my mother and my brothers. Matt.12:49

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother. Matt.12:50

2. From Romans 1:31 we know without natural affection (ASV & KJV, NIV translated heartless) is a sin worthy of going to hell!

3. Therefore, we know love for father and mother is nature, natural, equipped at birth!

That is why ASV KJV translated as without natural affection and NIV put it as heartless!

4. Love our father and mother does not need to be commanded! It is a natural part of our lives!

E.  “Honor your father and mother"-- which is the first commandment with a promise--

that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.

1. Everyone like to go well and enjoy long life on the earth!

2. People seek everywhere to get this going well and long life on the earth!

3. Every day we try very hard to work and do some much so we can go well and live long on the earth!

Why not try this one! Yes, I know this require an environment in which father, mother, brothers, sisters are all believers in the church!

4. This one I have personal experiences! And this is why I was able to come out from idols worship family

to become a follower of Jesus and even become a preacher of the truth in the Bible!

5. We all know in a family where father, mother, brothers and sisters all conduct their life according to Jesus’ teaching!

We have a bless family!  This leads to long life and go well on earth!

6. I was blessed because someone pick me up on the side walk and put me in school.

Where everyone is taught how to live the Bible way and by the grace of God I know how to compare with life among them

and among those who worship idols!  I appreciate the way of live as a followers of Jesus!

7. The people who displayed this life to me are blessed!  Because they have me become a dedicated preacher of the word!

I pray people in all the world become as I am!

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this on father’s day June 16, 2013.
