I love you? I love you. I love you!
Main scripture for this study: Ro.12:9-->
1. NIV --> Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. These three phrases are always together in one place!
2. ASV --> Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
3. KJV --> Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
4. WFW-->Love un-assumed. Shrinking from the evil, cleaving to the good.
Romans 12:9--> Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
*****This is about love in the spirit and soul! This kind of love always abhor that which is evil and cling to what is good!
A. Jesus command: John 15:12-14
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he
lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.
*****Please always rememer Jesus said who are his friends! "If you do what I command. You are my friends!"
B. Love in the soul or love 2013 (all this life of the flesh on earth)?
Please remember each person has 3 lives--> flesh, soul and spirit!
1. Love of the flesh, love of the soul and spirit?
What is the differences?
Love 2013 (all this life of the the flesh) is of the flesh! This is the one life all people know!
2. Apostle Peter put it this way when he wrote 1 Pet.1:22-25--> Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying
the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which live and abide for ever.
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass wither, and the flower thereof fall away:
But the word of the Lord endure forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
(1) From seeing you have purified your souls. We know love one another with a pure heart is the soul!(2) Those have been born again of incorruptible word of God may have love of the soul!
3. If you read only NIV Bible you may not know this! For NIV purified yourselves!
When people in the world read this 'purified yourselves' they think about life of the flesh!
4. Love of the flesh last only as long as the flesh lives!
As Peter wrote--> All flesh is as grass. All glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass wither and flower fall away!
But love of the soul and spirit lost forever!
5. Now we know why so many say I love you! But not able to understand God’s incorruptible word!
6. Now we know why they keep saying I love you, but not able to follow Jesus with you the same way!
Why don’t they know! When they decide not to follow Jesus with us the same, they will end up in a different place for eternity!
How can they still say: I love you? Yes, they can, but just love of the flesh!
7. How can people say I love you, but do not want to follow Jesus the same way with you!
They had not been born of God’s incorruptible word! Their souls had not purified by obeying the truth!
C. Now let us go back to Jesus’ command in John 15:12-14.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he
lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.
1. Jesus loves his friends and he lay down his life for them! What kind of love? Love of the soul and spirit!
2. But who are his friends? --> Jesus said: You are my friends if you do what I command.
3. These are those whose souls had been purified by obeying the truth, God’s incorruptible word!
D. Here is the best results of the love of the soul and spirit!
1. How much I love and admire Cornelius and his family and close friends!
Relatives and friends are together to hear the preaching of the word in one church!
Acts 10:24 The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.
Ac 10:33 Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.
2. How much I love and appreciate the Philippi’s jailer and his family! Acts 16:32-33
Ac 16:32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house.
Acts 16:33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized.
Acts 16:34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them;
he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God-- he and his whole family.
May the Lord bless you and keep you always! Preach this on June 23, 2013.
