Be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect.

A. Scripture for this study: Matt.5:48

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.  (King  James Version.)

In reality people on this earth has settled into this mentality--> No one is perfect!

Especially when comes to this be as perfect as the heavenly Father is perfect! This is humanly impossible!

Why did Jesus say--> Be ye perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect!?

B. Thank God, praise the Lord, last Sunday after I delivered the sermon-->

I love you?  I love you.  I love you!  Suddenly this dawn to me!

1. The first I love you with a question mark can mean, I love you?  In your dream.

2. The second I love you with a full stop can mean love without the heart!

3. The third I love you with an exclamation mark, this mean love from the heart, the soul or spirit.

4. From John 3:16-17 and John 4:24 we know God is Spirit. God so love the world…

5. So we know there is love from the spirit!

6. From 1 Peter 1:22-25 we know this love is from a soul which has been purified by obeying the truth.

7. From 1 Thes.5:23 we know each human has three lives--> Body and soul and spirit.

8. So love can be from body, the flesh, the soul and the spirit!

C. Now, let us see what King David said in Psalm 51:5-7

1. But first God has to equip us with the knowledge in 1 Thes.5:23 about man's 3 lives--> body, soul and spirit.

2. Second God has to equip us with the knowledge in Ezekiel 18:4--> The soul who sins is the one who will die.

3. Then we can understand what King David said in Psalm 51:5-7!

4. Now, let us see what King David said after he was informed of his wicked deeds! (2 Samuel chapter 11.)

He committed adultery with his soldier’s wife and murdered him to cover up!

I believe this is one utmost wicked sin in the eyes of God!

5. In showing his deep genuine repentance he wrote Psalm 51.

Here is what he wrote in Psalm 51:5—7

    a. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Psalm 51:5

    b. Behold, thou desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shall make me to know wisdom. Psalm 51:6

    c. Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7

6. The key here is which part of a person needs to be cleaned and washed?  Definitely, it is the soul!

7. After God's cleaning--> I shall be whiter than snow--> become perfect in the eyes of God!

God is the one who does this cleaning and washing!  The thing used was hyssop! (Pay attention to my hyssop story!)

D. Now, let us see what Jesus said in his farewell prayer! John 17:20-21

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.  John 17:20

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us:

that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

1. Thank God praise the Lord, this makes perfect sense!

It is by being in Christ that we are as perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect!

2. Please think about Jesus' prayer--> Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us.

3. Now, may it be known to the whole world! How important it is to be in Christ!

It is by being in Christ that we are also in the Father!

When we are in the Father, we are as perfect as the Father is perfect! It is life the human soul can do this, not flesh the body!

E. Apostle Paul put it this way! Titus 2:12-15

1. After believe and is baptized into Christ we should do these while waiting for Christ’s 2nd appearance!

  a. Deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. Titus 2:12

  b. Live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world. Titus 2:12

2. Christ gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people,

zealous of good works. Titus 2:14

3. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. Titus 2:15

Conclusion: This is why we must stay in the church of Christ for as long as we live on this present world! John 17:11-12

John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee.

Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

Jn 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name:

those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

It is the human soul purified by obeying the truth get added into the body of Christ, the church of Christ.

It is the human soul get baptized into Christ, that we are also in the Father, thus we are as perfect as the Father is perfect!

It is as long as we, souls, stay in the Father by being in the church of Christ that we are perfect as the Father is perfect!

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this on June 30, 2013.
