What kind of people fit to dwell in heaven with God?

What kind of people fit to dwell in heaven with God?

God: Be holy, because I am holy! 1 Peter 1:16

A.  Be holy in human relationship! Heb.12:14

Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

1. Free from immorality! Heb.13:4

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer

and all the sexually immoral. Heb.13:4

2. Free from greed. Heb.13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said:

Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.

3. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from

the faith and pierced themselves with many grief. 1 Tim.6:10

4. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person-- such a man is an idolater-- has any

inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Eph.5:5

B. Dare to be difference in the world!

1. 2 Cor.6:14-18

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with

unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with

Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of

God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and

walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among

them, and be ye separate, said the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, said the Lord Almighty.

2. 1 Cor.5:9-13

I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people-- not at all meaning the

people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would

have to leave this world.  But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler.

With such a man do not even eat.  What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church?            Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. Expel the wicked man from among you.

C. Be in holy living and holiness. 2 Peter 3:10-14-->

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great

noise, and the elements shall be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are

therein shall be burned up. Seeing that these things are thus all to be dissolved, what manner of

persons ought ye to be in holy living and godliness, looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of

the day of God, by reason of which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall

melt with fervent heat? But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth,

wherein dwell righteousness. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every

effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

D. Walk in the light with God while living on earth! 1 John 1:7-9-->

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of

Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.  If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth

is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from

  all unrighteousness.

E. The grace of God bring us salvation! Titus 2:11-14-->

For the grace of God that bring salvation hath appeared to all men,  Teaching us that, denying

   ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

   Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar

   people, zealous of good works.

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this on July 14, 2013.
