Some unique kinds of unrighteousness
Main scripture for this study: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Preface: We all have to pray to God to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness!
There are many unique kinds of unrighteousness which we do know pay attention to!
A. Failure to live up for what you agreed upon in your job is unrighteousness!
Not long ago there was demonstration to double their wages in the fast food industry!
For those who walked out from job to join demonstration are one unique kind of unrighteousness!
Please do not think that I do not have sympathy for all those workers! I say only what is in the Bible!
Here is the story: Matt.20:1-15
1. Early in the morning workers were hired. The agreement is a penny for a day’s work. Matt.20:1-2
According to construction worker nowadays early in the morning is 7 a.m.
Let’s say, at 7 a.m. workers were hired. At 9 a.m. 12 noon, 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. 6 p.m. is paying time.
2. The one who started work at 5 p.m. get a penny of pay for working only one hour.
3. Those worked 9 hours, 6 hours, 3 hours, and 1 hour all got same a penny pay!
4. Here is their complain: The men who came last worked only one hour.
You are paying them the same amount as us! We did most of the work all day long!
5. Please pay attention to what the owner said! Matt.20:13-15
But he answered one of them, and said: Friend, I do thee no wrong: did not you agree with me for
a penny a day? Take that your pay, and go your way. I will give unto this last, even as unto you.
Don't I have the right to do what I want with my own money?
Or are you envious because I am generous?
6. The difference is simple, but the consequence is between heaven and hell! Matt.5:40
I want to give you my i-phone 5s and I want you to give me your i-phone 5s!
7. All the complains that God is not fair are unrighteousness!
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matt.5:48
B. Failure to live up to what you are made of is unrighteousness! Luke 18:1-7
1. There was a judge who neither feared God nor care about men. 18:2
2. A widow coming to him with the plea: Grant me justice against my adversary. 18:3
3. For some time he refused.
But finally he said to himself: Even though I don’t fear God or care about men. 18:4
4. Yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice… 18:5
6. The Lord said: Hear what the unrighteous judge said. 18:6
The point here is that the Lord called him as the unrighteous judge!
7. Judges are servants God ordained to see that everyone get justice! Romans 13:1-4
The first time this judge refuse to see that this widow get justice, he is an unrighteous judge!
C. Generosity is a virtue but some generosity is unrighteousness!
According to what I know, many politicians like to vote for programs that give away tax money!
Never at one time I heard politicians put up their own money for programs that give away money!
This kinds of behavior is one unique kinds of unrighteousness!
Here is the story! Luke 16:1-9
1. A steward was found wasted his master’s goods and was fired from his job! Luke 16:1-2
2. He told his master’s debtors to reduce what they owe!
How much you owe? 800 gallons of oil. He said: Take your bill and write 400 gallons!
How much you owe? 1000 bushels of wheat. He said: Take your bill and write 800!
3. He said within himself, the lord commended the unrighteous steward.
4. He said within himself, the lord said he had done wisely.
5. He said within himself, the lord said children of the world are wiser than children of light!
6. He said within himself, he could make friends using his master’s money and that at time of trouble
these unrighteous friends may receive him into everlasting habitations!
