Give face for the name sake!
December 1, 2013 after Kien read 1 Peter 4:11 in the worship to the Lord,
2nd half of the verse suddenly shine out brightly in my mind!
This verse can be divided into these four points:
1. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.
2. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides.
3. So that God in all things is glorified through Jesus Christ.
4. To God is the glory and power forever and ever. Amen.
A. Suddenly, I recognized that I was emphasizing mostly on the first point!
1. I keep saying, I am determined to preach what is in the Bible, words come from the mouth of God!
2. I also often emphasizing on doing as much as we are given from God!
3. Point 3 is the reason why we do point 1 and point 2!
It is so that God in all things is glorified through Jesus Christ.
4. Point 4 is the reason why it is so that God in all things be glorified through Jesus Christ.
It is because to God is the glory and power forever and ever,
Plus the Amen at the end! This means thing has to be this way!
B. Do you know why we say, it is in the name of the Lord we begin our worship?
1. It is a declaration that we preach what is in the Bible, words from the mouth of God.
2. It is a declaration that we serve according to the abilities given to us by God!
3. It is so that God in all things be glorified through Jesus Christ!
C. Remember what I said in my sermon delivered on December 8, 2013?
1. When you say, here is a Roman Catholic Church, there is a Roman Catholic Church…
Who are you glorifying?
Roman Catholic from Italy! The worse is that you think of their Pope!
2. When you say, here is a Lutheran Church, Methodist Church, Alliance Church, Holy Rollers …
Who are you glorifying?
Man made teachings, their specific founders!
3. When you say, here is a church of Christ, there is a church of Christ, church of Christ everywhere!
Who are you glorifying?
Christ, of course! Do you see my point now!
4. I know, when churches of Christ are everywhere.
The world is filled with righteousness doing people!
I know God is glorified and peace is on earth!
This was supposed to be!
When the angel announced the birth of Christ!
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying:
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests. Luke 2:13-14
5. Now you know why Apostle Paul called those exited churches, churches of Christ!
It is so that in all things God is glorified through Jesus Christ!
6. When you say, we Baptist Church is much better with a lot more people! What are you doing?
a. You are insulting Christ. You don’t give a damn for the name, Christ!
b. Don’ t you know the church of Christ is the wife of Christ and the body of Christ?
c. Match down the body of Christ? What are you doing!?
7. In this world we all give face to the name of an important person!
In this universe we all have to give face to the name Christ!
D. Satan is using denominations to make sure God will not hasten his destruction!
1. Jesus Christ said: But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself! John 12:32
When all men see a church of Christ, they should stream to join!
But you know what? Satan makes sure they join any church but a church of Christ!
2. Many people will come and say: Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths… Isaiah 2:33.
Satan use denominations to make sure this prophesy will not fulfilled!
As long as this prophesy is not fulfilled yet, the end will not come!
Satan will still have its way in this world! People will not wake up!!!
Demon shouted: What do you want with us, Son of God?
Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time? Matt.8:29
