God is love what does it mean?
A. False teachers only like to tell you this side of the stories!
1. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him and he in God! 1 Jn.4:15
Friends, please come join us to confess Jesus is the Son of God so you all can be saved in the Lord!
Peter and Paul said: Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved! Ac.2:21, Ro.10:13
2. We have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is love.
He that dwells in love dwells in God and God in him. 1 John 4:16
3. God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Ro.5:8
4. Jesus said: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
5. Even if you are as bad as the thief on the cross or as bad as Saul God loves you! God will save you!
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners— of whom I am the worst. 1 Tim.1:15
*****6, Do you know who needs to quote this more often? Wake up and think!
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self- seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…1 Cor.13:4-8
B. When God do these still God is love?
1. Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying:
The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. Matt.22:1-2
2. He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, they refused to come.
3. Then he sent some more servants and said, `Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner:
My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'
But they paid no attention and went off-- one to his field, another to his business.
The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. Matt.22:3-6
4. The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. 22:7
Attention: When the king did item 1-3 they will say God is love. When God do item 4, still God is love?
5. The king told his servants: Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.
So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad,
and the wedding hall was filled with guests. Matt.22:8-10
At this people may say: Praise the Lord! God is love!
6. When the king came to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.
He asked: Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes? The man was speechless.
7. Then the king told the attendants: Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness,
where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'Matt.22:13
When God do this, still God is love?
8. When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Then he will say to those on his left, `Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Matt.25:31-41
When God do this, still God is love?
C. Think about why these things happened and why they were recorded! 1 Cor.10:1-11
1. For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.
They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 10:1-2
2. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink;
for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 1 Cor.10:3-4
3. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered over the desert. 1 Cor.10:5
4. Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. 10:6
5. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written:
The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan revelry. 1 Cor.10:7
6. We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did-- and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. 10:87. We should not test the Lord, as some of them did-- and were killed by snakes. 1 Cor.10:9
8. And do not grumble, as some of them did-- and were killed by the destroying angel. 1 Cor.10:10
9. These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. 1 Cor.10:11
D. Conclusion: I believe God is love! Because God is the same yesterday, today and forever! Rev.1:8
