Why get married?
A. Having a wife is a constant reminder and training how you love God!
1. Jesus said:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' Mark 12:30
2. The LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
The man said,
"This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called `woman,' for she was taken out of man." Genesis 2:22-23
3. Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me;
anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me Matt.10:37
4. Apostle Paul put it this way:
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.
He who loves his wife loves himself. Eph.5:28
5. Peter said to Jesus: We have left all we had to follow you!
Jesus said:
I tell you the truth, no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents
or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age
and, in the age to come, eternal life." Luke 18:28-30
B. So you can become an elder in the church!
1. Yes, an elder must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught,
so that he can encourage others by sound teaching and refute those who oppose it. Titus 1:9
2. To be an elder in the church you must have one faithful wife! 1 Tim.3:2
Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled,
respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
3. He must manage his own family well. 1 Tim.3:4
4. He must have children obey him with proper respect! 1 Tim 3:4
If he cannot manage his own family, he cannot take care of the church! 1 Tim.3:5
5. To have children you must have a wife, like Adam lay with his wife. Gen.4:1
With God’s help you may have children!
Bring them up according to what says in the Bible!
C. Having a wife is easier to avoid fornication and adultery!
1. Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure,
for God will judge the adulterers and all fornicators. Heb.13:4
2. Anyone failed to avoid these two sins end up with lots of troubles and lose money, life, soul!
This is a real total lost for you!
3. But if you can be like Apostle Paul, I do advise you not to get married!
4. Apostle Paul made it clear and simple!
It is good for a man not to touch a woman! 1 Cor.7:1
5. Yet I would that all men were even as I myself.
But each man has his own gift from God,
one after this manner, and another after that. 1 Cor.7:7
6. But I say to the unmarried and to widows.
It is good for them if they abide even as I. 1 Cor.7:8
7. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry,
for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. 1 Cor.7:9
8. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife,
and let every woman have her own husband. 1 Cor.7:2
9. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband.
The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband:
and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. 1 Cor.7:3-4
10. Recognize it! Adultery and fornication are Satan’s most powerful weapon to destroy you!
Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer;
and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. 1Co 7:5
D. Conclusion:
Flee fornication (not run). All other sins a man commits are outside his body,
but he who commits fornication sins against his own body. 1 Cor.6:18
