A. John 8:31-23--> To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said:

    If you abide in my word, you are my true disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.   

a. True Jesus believers know the truth in the Bible.   

b. True Jesus believers are able not to commit sins.

B. If you read only NIV English Bible you may be hopeless! 

     Pro 2:7 He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, NIV

     Pro 2:7 God lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

C. If you are in a church of Christ you are blessed indeed!

     Ro 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,     

 a. God lays up sound wisdom in store for the righteousness doing people. Proverb 2:7    

 b. True Jesus’ believers know the kingdom of God is the church of Christ. Eph.2:19    

 c. Church of Christ is about doing righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

D. Palms 51:5--> Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.   

    Ezekiel 18:20--> The soul who sins is the one who will die.

    The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son.

    The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him. 

     Mk 10:14--> When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.

    He said to them: Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,

    for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  

    Rev.20:13--> The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them,

    and each person was judged according to what he had done.

E. Acts 5:29--> Peter and the other apostles replied: We must obey God rather than men!   

    1 Peter 2:13--> Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men:   

     whether to the king, as the supreme authority, 

     Acts 25:19--> Instead, they had some points of dispute with him about their own religion and 

     about a dead man named Jesus who Paul claimed was alive.

F. 1 Cor.7:8-9--> Now to the unmarried and the widows I say:

    It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. 

    But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.  

    Phil.4:13--> I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

G. The thief on the cross with Jesus was saved without water baptism! Luke 24:41-43 

   a. Please do not quote John 1:12, 3:16, 36, Eph.2:8-9, Ro.10:9… to prove your point!

    b. If you do, Proverb 26:4-5 is for you!

    c. Common sense and Mark 2:10 solve this one!

H. Matthew 5:48--> You therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.   

   John 17:20-21--> My prayer is not for them alone.

    I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.  

    May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

I. Is John the Baptist the Elijah who was to come? 

   Jn.1:21 They asked John the Baptist: Are you Elijah?  He said: I am not.

   Matt17:10 Disciples asked Jesus: Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?

   Matt 17:12 But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished.

   In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.

   Matt 17:13 Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.

   Mal 4:5-6 See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. 

   He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers;

   or else I will come and strike the land with a curse."    

    Lk 1:17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah,

    to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--

    to make ready a    people prepared for the Lord."

J. Let no one tells you that they have newer revelations which is not in the Bible from God !

    John 16:12-13--> I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 

    But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own;

    he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.    

    2 Peter 1:3 seeing that his divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,

    through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue.

K. Eternal life is in Christ Jesus! 

    Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 

    Ac 2:47 Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church  daily such as should be saved.  

    Ro 16:16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings.

    Mt 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

***There is one God, one Lord, one Spirit, one faith, one baptism, one church, one hope. Eph.4:4-6   

L. John 15:5--> I am the vine; you are the branches.  

    If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  

   This verse is about individual saved people in the church of Christ, not different denominations!

M. You can understand these scriptures correctly!

   Mt 5:17-20--> Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets;

   I have not come to  abolish them but to fulfill them.

   I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest  letter, not the least stroke of a pen,

   will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is  accomplished.

   Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven,

   but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

   For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses  that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law,

   you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

N. Please do not be like those people!

a. Titus 3:10-11--> Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. fter that, have nothing to do with him.

    You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

b. Matt.7:22-23-->

    Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name,

    and  in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'

    Then I will tell them plainly, `I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

c. Heb. 6:4-6--> It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift,

    who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age,

    if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again

    and subjecting him to public disgrace.

d. 2 Peter 2:20--> If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

    and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.

e. Mt 16:13-17  When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples: 

    Who do  people say the Son of Man is? 

    They replied: Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still  others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.

    He asked: But what about you?  Who do you say I am?

    Simon Peter answered: You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. 

    Jesus replied: Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.

f. Ac 1:3 After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive.

   He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

   Ac 1:6 So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the   kingdom to Israel?
